Fix mouse performance issue in bios:

Sweet! Now maybe my mouse won't be moving erratically on its own in the bios.
Course now I just got to get the nerve up to flash a new bios... thank goodness for three bios positions.
I will probably give this a try in the morning with my coffee.
    Thanks Jacob!

Did you clear you CMOS before and after updating your firmware?

Yes, Also flashing erases everything anyway and you have to go back in and set up your settings again or it wont let you boot.

Ok curiosity got the best of me, went ahead and flashed to 2.10.
Flash went fine, found out can't boot into Windows 8.1 unless I go in and disable CSM again before trying, as I am running full UEFI.

Mouse behavior - still the same for me in the bios Jacob, erratic moving around on it's own, mouse still unusable in the bios for me.

Have to go in and put all my settings with my overclock back in manually, guess the profile I saved in position 2 is not available to load when I flash to position 1 lol...
Will get my overclock back and run a quick stress to see how it does.

Ok think I have all my settings back, sitting back on 4.50 ghz.
Will do little stressing for a quick check.

Little disappointed, main reason I jumped on it was the fix to the mouse behavior - mine did not fix...

Ok I am about 30 minutes in, with a pedal to the metal LinX run ( all memory), so far so good. Appears it is going to be stable like this 4.50 ghz overclock was with 2.09.

Don't know that this update will really do much for me, of the fixes listed mainly it was the mouse issue I was most interested in, and I still have that issue. :(
But so far she is looking good.

Be aware: IF you installed Windows 8 or 8.1 with CSM disabled in the bios , for full UEFI,  when you load defaults and try to get back into Windows, you will get an error that it can't find a boot device - unless first you disable CSM right after loading defaults and before trying to boot into Windows8/8.1.

Edit: Ok over an hour in on the LinX run, 6 passes, all looking good. Will be stopping it here shortly to retire for the night.
Edit2: And the final test - Yes, it still sleeps and resumes!  At least so far...

Installed 2.10, cleared CMOS, inserted exact settings from 2.09 proven stable and had a 124 BSOD about 10 seconds after desktop finished loading.  I guess it will take more voltage on 2.10?

Back to 2.09 until I have time to experiment more.

Wanted to add a strange event.  Upon returning to 2.09, K-boost was disabled (I always run enabled).  I cleared the C-mos and reloaded from a saved profile and all appears well again.  I confirmed that my 2.10 load had all setting correct and K-Boost was enabled.  Something in 2.10 must simply need more Vcore.  Since it BSOD on at idle on the desktop, it must need a pretty significant amount more.

Also, when switching BIOS, things seem to get corrupted somehow.  I is not simply change switch position and reboot, I have to go in and reload a profile before things are happy.  Not sure what is causing this, or why, but it is repeatable.

Strange, that so far has not been my experience, mine is running happily along with the same settings I had in 2.09.
K-Boost by default should be enabled, I run with it disabled and have to disable it every time I load defaults.

    What I did was:
Shut down and moved bios selector to position 1. ( I have 2.09 on position 2). 2.08 was previously in position 2.
Powered on , immediately going into bios and load defaults, and to make sure all was well and set for me to boot into Windows, then booted into Windows.
Ran the bios flash from Windows using update.bat
Powered back on after shutting down, going into bios, again making any necessary changes to boot into Windows.
Once in Windows and all appeared ok, rebooted into bios and plugged my overclock settings in again.

I'll let you know Monday when I get this rev going. I haven't had an issue with UEFI and CSM in a while.

The fact that you do not run K-Boost could account for our differences.  Maybe they reduced the boost of K-Boost and I need more.  Since I would need to add Vcore, and I am having NO issues with 2.09, I plan to stay with 2.09 until something better comes along.

Since I'm having "zero" issue's with rev 2.09, I'll stay with it.  I don't see anything in the "fix" list in the OP to make me want to use it.

Since I'm having "zero" issue's with rev 2.09, I'll stay with it.  I don't see anything in the "fix" list in the OP to make me want to use it.

And I was waiting for your update notes before I went with 2.10
Guess time will tell, so I will let other users post their findings and wait and see how well others are doing.

Still working fine for me - but really I don't see how I gained anything since my mouse issue was not fixed...

Well I do recall getting the long beep once when I booted with my USB Storage drive I use for backups  was plugged in, guess I could test that but it is very rare I leave it hooked up and would rarely boot with it plugged in. I normally run my weekly image of my drives and put it away.

2.10 is working fine for me, possibly a little better than 2.09, but the XMP profiles are still not working. They worked only in 2.07 for me. Hoping the next BIOS improves memory compatibility further.

The GUI CPU frequency calculations were always off for me when using an odd bclock like 128.75.  So since it showed it was fixed and I had some time, I flashed this new revision.  It did fix that as was stated in the OP.

I set up two of my previous bios profiles and tested so far.  One is using a 43 multi with a 103 bclk (4.422), and the other with a 35 multi and a 128.75 bclk (4.500).  Both profiles I used the same settings from bios rev 2.09.  I tested both with IBT using very high settings for just 5 runs to verify my settings remained stable.  Everything remained the same as with bios 2.09.

Looking good & stable so far...

I have a DUMB question why did you pick those multi's & Bclk's
can u give a quick explanation
is there a RATIO you must try to keep in Overclocking

I also did Bios 2.10 flash from windows and had NO PROBLEMS and I can say it did help my mouse's behavior no more erractic movement but I guess with the 120hz monitor it still moves quickly.
I haven't tried any Overclocking, but I will Monday see if any difference's from Bios 2.09

Check his sig, he is using a i7 3820 and the multiplier is caped (locked to) at 43 I believe so
any higher than 4.3ghz needs bclk manipulation

What iamSneaky said about my partially locked CPU is correct.  I also like using the bclk to squeeze a little more performance out of my CPU & Ram.  Meaning that if you strictly use the mutli, you're limited to 100MHz increments.  Sometimes, increasing by 100 can put the temp higher than you may like, or require vcore higher than you'd like.  By using different combinations with the bclk, you can pretty much set any CPU clock speed and Ram speed.

I also thought raising bclk would increase ram bw and lower latencies. From first tests I gotta tell ya - my system got slower. At least on the ram side. Weird. It seems there are some timings being loosened as soon as you increase your bclk just one notch.

I have to look into it further.

I still had the erratic mouse movement in the BIOS with this 2.10 version, I looked at what it was detecting for USB input devices and noticed it said 1 keyboard, 2 mice and one pointer.  Had a Microsoft sidewinder precision pro USB joystick plugged in also and while in the BIOS I unplugged the joystick and the mouse instantly starting working correctly.

Interesting, in device manager I show two listings:
    HID Compliant Mouse
Logitech G400 gaming mouse ( which is what I have ).
( I still have the erratic mouse in bios).

Wonder if I should delete the first one?
I have never had another mouse hooked up though...
