Howdy, I can't see a thing and I am having really bad headache from the 5 ultra super bright white leds on the card. I can't believe you guys put something like that on a card like this so please tell me how to disable them? I have a case with sidepanel window and often my rig is an open testbench. Which is pure tortune now.

These LEDs are actually voltage monitors. All 5 lit are normal, and no there is no way to turn them off. If one of the LEDs were not lit, that means there is something wrong with one of the voltages. I forgot what they are all for, but that is there purpose. Same configuration on the normal Classified card as well.

I know what they are used for. But its not like you need eye burning bright ones to show it off. I have never ever seen anything this bright on a PC hardware component. For obvious reasons. E: Are they tied to some VDD line or would it technically be possible to mod vBIOS to disable them on purpose regardless of card working properly?

Okay, I found the thread that had post from EVGA tech and these are the functions of the LEDs:
Bright White glow indicates normal operation. GPU LED - shows voltage health for the GPU. MEM LED - shows voltage health for graphics memory. PLL LED - shows voltage health for auxiliary PCIe/PLL voltage rail. +3.3V LED - shows voltage health for onboard +3.3V power input from motherboard. +12V LED - shows voltage health for +12V power input from PSU. Not sure what, if any, BIOS or other changes could be made to turn them off. Either try some tape or maybe black marker or something to darken them or block them off. Probably want something not too permanent though just in case you ever need to RMA the card. Far as I know, these LEDs have been around since the 680 Classified and are on all the current Classified models.

Sheesh... what an easy fix! Take a black sharpie and paint the tops of the LEDs. Use multiple coats till they are dim enough to suit your taste. If that's not satisfactory, go buy some black modeling paint or fingernail polish and paint them. (You can always rub it off in the future using some paint thinner and a Q-tip.)

To me, they aren't really that bright and give a nice touch to the card but then again i can see why it may bother some.

If one only has 4 lit, that would possibly mean a problem with voltage at some portion of the card. Or is could be just a defective LED. Which one of the 5 is not lit? My post about 8 above yours state which each of the LEDs is a monitor for.

This is the post: http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=2063682 First or last would be either the GPU voltage or +12V voltage. What is your power supply? With 2 (8) pins plus 1 (6) pin for each card, that could be too much a draw for one of the rails. Have you tried switching the power cables between the two cards to see if that makes any difference?

for those saying " sharpie the leds" no just no. when you RMA a card it has to be stock condition. original cooler. no paint(as shown by that other topic) so I doubt sending in a card with all the LEDS covered in sharpie/markers is going to be a good thing. you can say "bah just clean it off then" but why so much trouble. Just grab a tiiiiny bit of electrical tape to cover them. have to RMA? just pull it off.

Aren't the kingpings rated at 450 watt? so 2 X 450 watt = 900 watt leaving 100 watt for the rest of the system. I might be wrong but 1000 watt for two of those cards and a whole system might be abit too weak.
