I have the E760 X58 SLI Classified board. Three weeks ago I purchased an EVGA 780 FTW card and installed. I updated to the latest BIOS 83 for the board. After I installed the card I could never run a game or benchmark without the computer crashing , or hard locking. I have the latest drivers for all of my components, chip set, sound card, video card , ect. I could install my old 670 FTW card and everything seemed to be o.k. I talked to EVGA and RMA the card, after about three days after I shipped the card back, the computer started crashing with my old 670 card. Now I have had nothing but problems since. I even reinstalled Windows. I have the new 780 FTW card installed back in the computer but still are having the same problems. I purchased and installed a new Corsair ax860i power supply thinking that was the problem, but nothing seems to help. Here is a list of the problems. Windows will loose the sound card drivers and I have to install the drivers on boot up. BIOS keeps changing the voltage for the CPU 1.20000 or 1.30000 on boot up, nothing in between always these two even numbers. Today the time and date changed while I was in Windows , ( no re-boot ). I had to back into BIOS and change them back to the correct settings. Still crashing while playing games or benchmarking.

reflash your bios and when it reboots reset the bios to defaults and reboot again. this should get it running stable again

Also, change your MB BIOS battery which looks like a Watch Battery. This keeps your BIOS settings. You can pull the battery easily from the MB and check the model number written on it. They should be available at Walmart/Target etc for a few bucks.

After I flashed the BIOS again I still had some lock up problems. I also noticed that the hard drive seemed to be slow installing some software. I changed the SATA cable for my main hard drive and it sure helped. I've been playing call of duty online for three hours with no problems. Either the re-flash seemed to solve the problem or I had a bad cable. Will test further and let you know.

Was that one of the original motherboard bundle cables?

No, the cables came with my case. They have a right angle connector where they connect to the hard drives due to a plastic cover that goes over them.

ok, still having problems. I'm loosing my sound now. I have the Nvidia HD audio disabled in device manager. The creative x-fi shows up in the device manager but my sound will drop out and I have to uninstall the device and re-install the drivers to get my sound back. When I loose the sound , the icon on the task bar shows that there should be sound coming from the speakers but still no sound. I have updated my signature to show my new components.
