So this is a bit weird as I said I would wait, But I came across a car I really came to love. Unfortunately, It was used with 21k miles, but the car runs clean, is gas efficient and hauls butt!

I went to talk about my TrueCars certificate at the Dodge dealership for my Challenger R/T and they only had R/T Plus with added features, Cheapest one was $34,000 so I told them I'm good since I want to avoid my previous situation. I remember an Ad came out promoting brand new mustangs for like $27,000 or so, Can't remember but it was a good deal and I decided to go early in the morning.

I saw this beauty that just seems perfect! It's all black with silver stripes, Some Premium package rims, leather seats, MyColor on all of the inside, Shaker 500.... Needless to say, It brought back memories from my first car... You guys know I loved my car, Since I'm always bringing it up.

Anyways, I'm a huge mustang fan and it took me a while to get used to the new taillight shape, But I'm fine with them now. I know it's not as good as AfterBurner's GT, But for my budget I think I did super good. Let me know what you guys think, Be as harsh as you'd like since I know you guys don't hold back anyways (From my previous experience) =P which actually opened my eyes, So feel free to say what's on your mind! P.S. Before I begin, Just know, Cal Worthington does actually care about the customer. I felt better purchasing a car here, Than in any major dealership I've been to thus far... The car was $24,000 since it's a convertible and has all these features, When we began talking numbers, Before they ran my credit I told them my situation and he said I would get an 18% APR, So my payment would be high like at 475 a month for 72 months.

I told him 18% is in no way my goal and that I'd be better off waiting until my inquiries fall off, I said I'd probably do 8-9% max and he said "I'll give you 8.99%" lol I instantly regretted that and I told him that's still too much, So he dropped it to 6.99%. I also got him to drop the price to $22,000 + $2,500 down payment, Which is pretty damn good in my books.. However the payment was still at $371 and the only thing really wrong with the car was the stripes are damaged by the sun, there's cracks everywhere so I told him I'd take the car if he could replace the stripes with new ones... He agreed and we went to speak to the F&R manager. They ran my credit and he said it might go up to $450 a month because of it, I called his bluff and said I don't want the car unless it's at $371/m. He got it for me, Then asked me about the stripes... So we went outside and checked it out and he said he would like to make me a deal, he could lower my monthly payment (By lowering the APR) instead of fixing the stripes, So I could fix it myself and they don't have to be involved in it anymore... I sarcastically said "Fine, Give me a $300 monthly payment and I'll take it", We walked inside and he said "I want to make you happy" and he lowered my monthly payment to $305 a month for 72 months. That's $21,960 after interest in those 6 years, Which means my total was $24,460 for the car (That means he took almost $5,000 off just because of my complaint with the stripes!). that's damn good in my books! What do you guys think?

I know I wrote a long story, But it was my first time actually being persistent in what I wanted and succeeded in not having them screw me over (Unless they did and I still haven't figured it out? Let me know lol).

It's a bit dark outside, But here are some pics.. Let me know!

Whats next JK? Hey brotha let the haters hate. At least you have a car unlike A TON I MEAN A TON of people in the world would wish to have a car such as yours. Heck even a car in general. You know me I am a mustang fan too as you can see me always talking about my Cobra and I like your car right off the bat. I would love to have a car like that for a daily driver minus it being a convertible(rather have moon roof). Also good deal! This seems more sensible to a realistic budget for you. At least you did not pay sticker price. (dont EVER pay sticker price). Update us if you ever decided to modify both engine and body. Great car and I hope you enjoy every bit of it!!

Awesome car, I really like it. That V6 has some great power and is nice and smooth. How is the auto shifter?

You go from the KIA to wanting a Dodge which was really nice to a V6 Mustang and a convertible at that.  I guess if your old man is floating the bill then have at it.

Better, can't get over the convertible part lol, but it is what it is and if you like it that's all that matters. I too bought a new car on friday, well new used, but new to me, 2012 370z. Blast to drive around, i hope yours is fun too.

People might laugh and make fun of the fact that you bought a convertible, but on a nice day with the top down, tunes cranked, cruising down the road......all their words seem foolish.

Considering 25in rims are not produced i'd be hard pressed to believe you....

They do make 24s and 26s tho.

Do yall not like HIDs or something?  Or just people who buy aftermarket HIDs?  I personally love HIDs.  My previous Acura TL and my new Acura RDX come with them standard and I personally could never go back to the old Halogen bulbs.  HIDs are much brighter than Halogens (so they are safer at night), they last MUCH longer than Halogens (up to 10 times longer), consume less power, can withstand a greater amount of vibration and shock from the road due to there being no filament, and the reason why most people get them, they look much better and aren't the ugly yellow light that you get from Halogens.

I love HID's, I think they are an extremely conservative resource in terms of power draw vs lighting.

However... I don't like how people put them on and don't get them properly aligned or go through the trouble of getting proper housing for them, I'm CONSTANTLY getting blinded by such people.

Okay, that makes much more sense, it is annoying when people don't have them properly aligned.  And yeah, my cars have come with them standard so I have never had to install aftermarket parts.  What I love about them was I had my 1999 Acura TL from 2003 to all the way up to the end of last year and I NEVER had to replace them, they lasted that long and I don't even think the first owner replaced them (that's 14 years with one set of bulbs).  Where I had to replace the regular Halogen high beams a few times.

It's hard to get blinded by my mustang. I see what you're saying though, My old 2007's HID's would blind everyone, Especially because I had HID fog lights as well running 24/7 LOL! they were aimed straight forward, These are aimed a bit lower so they illuminate in front of me, But not enough to blind people directly.. Unless I put the high beams on.

Congrats on your new car and I hope you have fun with it.

You are misunderstanding what people refer to as HIDs. Projectors is what came on his car, that is indeed a high intensity discharge light setup. I've had them on my G, and I have them on my 370. The problem is, people that take automotive lighting in their own two hands usually put some idiotic color like blue instead of the factory 5k setup which is white. Not only is blue incapable of delivering the same range as white, but it is also obnoxious to look at(5k is natural white.) So yeah, I hate people who do HIDs on their cars other than what came from factory.

Erm.. Did you know we can choose which intensity we want installed in our car and they're still considered HID's?

Yeah, I got the 5000k because True White is what most cars come pre-installed from the factory. Assuming just makes you look like an ass.

^^ Have you been trolling us all along ever since the KIA?

Maybe it's because I haven't slept in 3 days, But I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say.

Ok I just have 2 questions.

    1. Why in gods name did you get the V6?

    2. What happened to the Kia?

    My Laptop (GE63VR-7RF):
    -7700HQ.
    -16GB RAM.
    -GTX 1070.
    -128GB SSD.
    -1X 1TB 7200 spinny drive.

The way you phrased it the first time made it seem like he didn't have HIDs and only had projector headlamps (which come in Halogen) since you said replace with HIDs.  And no, I am not misunderstood on what HIDs are.  I've had high intensity discharge lights, or Xenon lights, for over 10 years now.  So you just have a problem with the higher K bulbs, the 8000K blue or 10000K violet colors.  I don't mind them, but I would never use them.  I've had factory 5000K white bulbs for 10+ years now.  But if you are worried about the range of the light, then you should be using the 3000K yellow bulbs that are the brightest.

I think you might be misunderstood on what HIDs actually are.  Projector headlamps come in either Halogen or Xenon.  The main difference between the two is that old Halogen bulbs heat up metal filaments to produce light where HIDs use an arc tube to heat up gases (Xenon for automotive lights) and metal salts to produce light.  When someone says HID, they are talking about lights that use Xenon gas.  Projector headlamps does not mean by default they are also Xenons.  4300K and 5000K which are the two common factory installed color temperatures are still HIDs, all color temperatures 3000K-15000K are HIDs, not just the blue and violet colors like you are saying.  If you would have phrased it the first time "people that replace factory projector 5000K HIDs with 8000K+ HIDs have a special place somewhere..." then people would have more understood what you where trying to say.  And by the way, it's 5000K and not 5k because it is referring to the temperature in Kelvin.

This is my favorite kind of head light. Projector Halo lights. I just like the light lip around the projectors.

Now I hate head lights that just have the LED strip. Its so tacky such as this one.

Belongs on a BMW, not on a mustang. Especially since those are ebay headlights.

Both halos and LED strips are tacky on cars that didn't come with them.

And HID's won't blind anybody in a projector housing like in Rush's car (unless they're badly aimed of course). They only blind people when installed into a reflector housing.

Oh and nice new car Rush. I always disliked verts until I got a Wrangler. Now I understand.

Ive never seen someone be so inconsistent with what car they want.

You go from the KIA to wanting a Dodge which was really nice to a V6 Mustang and a convertible at that.  I guess if your old man is floating the bill then have at it.

Lol, Seriously? My father isn't even helping me at all with anything I'm doing now. He helped me the first time just because I didn't have any credit.. I'm on my own as far as all this goes now.

P.S. I'm going to get a paint job just to make it look even nicer... I had the windows tinted and HID's installed earlier today... pics to come later tonight ^_^!

    Thanks to everyone :3

Paint job? Does it need one being this new? You doing a custom paint job? Why?

I think the car looks nice as it is, maybe put a rear spoiler on it.

I have a set of HIDs on my bmw but the thing is I have them correctly installed and angled. There was this VW Golf that had them on and I literally had to pull off the road to let that guy pass because of how bright they were. It was just unbearable to have him driving behind me.
