Does this Bios update fix all memory problems? My MB didn´t boot up last time when i switched to xmp profile... i had to send the MB to RMA... i was thinking to sell the board... but if it works now i will give it another try.

I'm going to test this out tonite. Offset is useful.

Do we have any idea when the new manual will be ready?

Just checked the quick boot menu and YAY now it shows all harddisks!! Thanks so much - its the small changes that can have big impacts ;). BTW there is a small bug/glitch in the quick boot window though, nothing critical -> it says pressing ESC should boot "default" - but Esc doesnt do anything - just FYI.

    Kind regards,

Thanks, we'll squash that one in the next release.

    Re: EVGA X79 Dark - BIOS 2.09 Released 2013/12/19 15:00:14 (permalink)
When increasing the Bclock Freq. over 100, it still causes the VSA and VCCIO voltage to go over 1.20v even when manually set to 1.035v.  If you leave the bclk freq at 100, those two voltages stay where you set them to.

For some reason they are correct only on the 1st boot to Windows.  But on the 2nd boot, those voltages increase even though they have been manually set.

NM.  I went back to re-create it for screen shots, and couldn't duplicate it after several attempts.  Must have been a fluke...

Well I guess I could always flash this to position 2, then I still have 2.08 on position one since it is working so well for me.

For me it became worse after 2.07, in 2.07 I could boot using XMP profiles. Starting with 2.08 and also in 2.09 I cannot boot using the XMP profiles. I reported this in the 2.08 announcement thread as well.

I went ahead and duplicated as best as I could all of the XMP profile 1 settings from 2.07 into 2.09 manually, though I left tCCD, tCCD_WR and RTL/IOL alone since those were not present in 2.07. Still just reboot looping until I hit the BIOS reset switch. Still using the 2.07 timings, but lowering the speed from 2400 to 2133, then the system boots. Windows bluescreened, but Linux boots.

    My memory is G.Skill F3-2666C11Q-32GTXD.

Fwiw, with 2.08 on the new build I did this week, XMP 2133 MHz Profile worked great with my Dominator Platinum 2133 MHz ram. Set the timings, speed, and voltage correctly and has been running since Monday afternoon without a hiccup.

I will probably flash to 2.09 tomorrow, hopefully all remains the same.

I just tried and cannot boot with my USB 3.0 hub connected. When will this fix be implemented?

Also in case it helps I could never previously load the UEFI with video rom set to UFEI Only (I would get a cursor and AB on a black screen)

Finally with 2.09 it loads the UEFI fine on my Titans!

Finally I can do 125MHz Bclk @2666 and XMP w/208 (just upgraded). Gonna test that one as soon I got time.

I also lack knowledge about that offset voltage. What's its purpose?

Do you use it to stabilize oc w/EIST and Speed Step?

Just flashed to 2.09 via Windows without issue. Put it on position 2, so now have 2.08 on position one, and the shipping bios on position 3.
Loaded up my settings, it accepted the XMP 2133 MHz 1.5v profile for my ram just fine once again, so far so good.

Two great bios released within a week of each other, great job EVGA!

Some times you have to set the video to legacy, boot into windows. make sure SLI is disabled. then boot to UEFI from windows. Disable CSM and you should be ok.

Assembling my parts now Question; can I just flash straight from factory installed bios or should I progress from installed and step up a bios at time? I understand that the latest bios usually incorporates all previous fixes and you can usually just flash to the most recent bios, but hey it never hurts to ask.

Well lost my 3.0 Pci-e now reads 2.0 for my 2 Evga 780ti sc cards from upgrade 2.08 to 2.09 any answers why ?

Also noticed Raised vc to 1.35 manual and it stays 1.37 to 1.36 bouncing. Then I lowered it to 1.30 and it never changed, it stayed  1.37 to 1.36 bouncing.

Also would like to know which Temperature is correct for Processor Temperature...  These where non OC Temps with MB @ Ambient Temperature of 20c First Time Starting up AFTER a 8Hour ShutDown TIME & immediately Entering Bios for readings..... MB  Reads 25c    Bios reads 40c

Corsair Reading in windows...I assuming But pretty sure it was  the MB DISPLAY Reading it was linked too, It follows it pretty close...MB DISPLAY reading OC 55c

I would Assume a Bios Reading was 70c plus During a light load processor Test in windows so I have too assume since I cant be in windows and the bios at the same time...

    Computer Setup  Listed Below Thanks...

2.08 appeared to fix the problem with having an external USB drive plugged in on boot. (The system still hung for a few seconds, but there was no longer a beep).

2.09 seems to have broken that again

I noticed that yesterday, had an external hard drive I use for backups attached and when I booted up got about a 5 second long beep.

Assembling my parts now Question; can I just flash straight from factory installed bios or should I progress from installed and step up a bios at time? I understand that the latest bios usually incorporates all previous fixes and you can usually just flash to the most recent bios, but hey it never hurts to ask.

    Hey mate,

you can flash straight to the most recent BIOS version.

Still getting BSOD with USB 3 hubs. This needs to be fixed. Lots of weird USB bugs but I see that Z87 bios got some USB fixes. Maybe it's coming to X79 soon.
