So a while back, There was a discussion about large monitors (Not your typical "Large" monitor, WIDE) and I was very tempted... I've been thinking about upgrading since my friend is buying my current monitor off of me and if I could get one on special, That's a bit less that I have to spend.

Well, I decided to go with the LG 29EA73-P.

I wanted to do a 3 monitor set up with 3 29" Monitors, But that would be too expensive... So I did what would be best for me if I could only afford a single monitor at the moment. I'll show you guys some pictures once it gets here, Should be here on Friday since it only takes a day to arrive and I doubt they'll deliver tomorrow.

The resolution is 2560 x 1080 and although many people prefer x1440, I don't mind sticking to 1080.

I also purchased an internal blu-ray players for my PC so I can finally watch my blu-ray movies (I have a collection of 41 of my favorites so far that I can't watch, Because my PS3 is connected to a 23" monitor that the speakers are barely loud enough to hear right in front of it) so I'm hoping with this monitor and my 5.1 sound system the blu-rays will be a dream come true to myself! (That is until I get my 50"+ TV I've been wanting, However I probably won't buy that as I don't watch TV)

Needless to say I'm super excited and I should have waited for its arrival before creating this thread, But I will surely upload some pics.

I hope my GTX 670 4GB can handle the resolution for gaming on max settings on any game =/

Well, I know no one cares, But maybe at some point someone will search something and this will come up.

    Anyways, I'm loving this monitor!

    Before :

    After :

It looks smaller by height, But it's mostly the bezel. The height difference for the screen itself is less than half an inch on the new monitor, Which is fine by me, Since that's nothing really!

The length difference is 6" so it really does make a huge difference! The bezel is super thing, So maybe at some point I'll buy a 2nd one and place it on top of this one (Will have to lower this one, obviously!)

I'm loving this! Movies look extremely awesome, I ran a game and the resolution is supportive naturally, But I haven't actually played In-Game yet since I have to go to work and I just installed. I love this!

Congrats. I like LG. I'm sure you will love that monitor. Good price, since it came down to $400. I have an LG 27", and it has a very nice picture.

That is a very cool setup, I have looked at those before as well, I always was concerned with how many games would and wouldn't fit properly in that setup.  If games scale properly that is going to be an awesome setup.

That is an interesting Panel you have there RuffeDK
2560 x 1080 x32, hmm more like Dual 1280 x 1080 screens in one, which I find a very unique resolution for sure!
This seems to be the very rarely seen 21:9 aspect ratio designed by Phillips I love rare stuff like this for sure!

As I remember them bringing out a 21:9 aspect ratio based Plasma 2.0 TV some 4 years ago, which also was 2560 pixels wide and 1080 pixels high, it gave a very strange and unnatural look, too wde for my doings, but if Dual Monitor was your thing and you wanted a 2 in 1 solution without them annoying bezels, these 21:9 aspect ratio's TV's were quite the solution, only their market was no great success, it was a well thought idea but too expensive and to clumsy in size. the Sony Minidisc and the beta Video tapes were also great idea's that did not evolve so well

But interesting to see that there were also monitors made with the odd aspect ratio & resolution

I've been eyeballing those 'ultra wide' screen monitors for a bit now.  I like what they offer.  I don't really have the space to run too many monitors for my work rig - and this might fit the bill.  Let us know what you think once you've had some time to play with it.

So how has the monitor been working for you so far?
I have been eyeballing these monitors  I been running Surround with 3 27 Asus monitors.
But want to go this route, to be honest if they made this in 32 inch I would be sold with a higher resolution would be the icing on the cake.   :)
So how has this been for gaming?
P.S.   I have the same speaker and sub as you.....

I like it, But Are you looking to get 3 of these? I wouldn't go from a 27" monitor to a 29" Widescreen monitor.

The height is just a tadbit shorter than a 24" but bigger than a 23", The only difference is the length.... So this would be a downgrade if you went this route instead...

I dislike Ghosts at the moment due to the resolution, It looks awesome but I'm still getting used to it. I haven't played any other games yet, Lol. Youtube and Netflix, etc etc aren't able to match the res so it has bigger black boxes... lol.

    Here's the comparison

Top is Netflix (But most video sites, Such as youtube, Amazon etc. look like that)
Bottom is a Blu-Ray bootleg I have on my PC, I just bought an actual blu-ray player to install in my PC (LG) and I'm sure it'll be even nicer when I watch my collection of blu-rays!

I'd rather have a 3x27/29 set up, But temporarily this works just fine.

Oh god no on 3 of those.   just 1 would be fine,   to be honest I want a 32" monitor or would like wide screen  that is taller. I don't understand why companies wont make these . I meen 3 monitors spanned, you think there would be.
I guess wait till these type of monitors mature.

Yeah, If they can make a 1440 32" Widescreen that's like 1.5x the height of this one, That would be amazing.
