I too have to ship mine back as a cross-ship once approved, my question is should we remove them from use now or wait for our new one? Thanks

Ugh.  My PSU is in the hands of my system builder...He lives in Australia.  Can I get prepaid for him to ship it back to EVGA directly or do I have to have him ship it back to me first?  I plan on calling EVGA support tomorrow but figured I'd ask here as well.

    Hi bcavnaugh,

I can recommend using the power supply like normal and replacing it once the new replacement arrives.

I have one of the PSUs mentioned also and the final components for my new build will be delivered today. Talk about a kick in the teeth. But the positive side to this is the support after the sale. Thanks Jacob for the heads up. Now I just need tech support to answer my email.

Mine is due for RMA as well. It was OK enough for a few weeks, then quit. I only learned of the problem batch today.

I need to RMA mine NEX1500XR too... I send message to custom before few days to tell them about sending to avoid to pay custom tax later.
Maybe EVGA want to replace me with 1000P2. Never mind because it's cheaper and half price of NEX15000. I'm not greed and I will keep for me.
Important to work and for me is enough 1000W.
Than I can sell mine Seasonic X-750 and keep money if I success to save enough for GK110Ti Classified.
Seasonic X-750 Gold in Serbia can sell for 100e easy used. New is 160e.
Bigger task will be sell mine 780 Classified for good price.

My new unit arrives today.  If you followed the above link (post #1) and entered your serial number, it'll tell you if your PSU is one of the problem units.  If so, follow the registering & invoice upload instructions for the Avanced RMA (if you haven't already), and you're good to go.  EVGA will take care of it for you...

Ok, so I have at least two problems. I go through the article, select cross-ship, select continue... get to the rma page with no submit button. I tried filling out everything about 5 times in between refreshes, no button. Then I read on top it says "Please use Guest RMA to submit :", so I tried that and today I got a response with someone else's name and none solution.

I apologize for the mix-up in the response and any frustration. Looking at the serial number there may be a typo in it.  Please e-mail support@evga.com with the e-mail address on your account and a picture of the serial number sticker and we can see about getting the RMA doe for you.

Sent, but no typo... unless the serial on the power supply is different than the serial on the box somehow.

I'm having problems with my Advanced RMA with the EVGA EU Support Team, i already paid the collateral for cross-shipping and they keep telling me to send my PSU first and pay the shipping cost, could you guys resolve this problem?
here is the messages from support:

Continue Support Ticket FOR SN 1303441008800***

    Question Date: 11/21/2013
Q: I applied for a cross-ship RMA for this PSU because the PSU Update Notice in the EVGA website, i received an e-mail telling me that was approved and should send my PSU first and pay for the shipping cost!
Shouldn't i receive first the new PSU and a pre-paid shipping label to return the defected one? I paid the full price to have a new and good PSU from EVGA and now i have to be without my PC running for a few days and even pay for the shipping? Are you serious?
I didn't have problems with my PSU, if EVGA don't cross-ship to me with shipping paid i will not continue with this RMA, i hope you guys understand my situation and clear this out soon, i will wait for your reply.
    Answer Date: 11/22/2013
A: Hi, thanks for your detailed request - first you chose not advanced RMA, but standard. We do offer two RMA-options: standard means: that you send us defective product, which normally takes 3 days one-way and three days for the processing, so all in all it takes about 9 days. advanced means: that you´ve to pay a security payment via PayPal and we´ll make a cros shipment. As soon as we´ll receive the defective product, we´ll retransfer the money. Please let me know if you want to change it to advanced. Thanks. Regards,

    Tech: Markus Kaesbauer

    Question Date: 11/22/2013
Q: You say that i chose standard, bu when i clicked in "Cross-Ship" i received the following automated e-mail:

    "Dear, Jose Costa

EVGA has received your Advanced RMA request. Your RMA ID Number is 336231.

    APPROVAL

EVGA will review your Advanced RMA (EAR) request within 1-2 business days. If your Advanced RMA request has been approved, you will be asked to submit a credit card as collateral as the final step in the process. Please note: After your EAR request has been approved, you will need to submit the collateral payment in order for the product to ship. EVGA will process a refund of this collateral payment within 3 business days of receiving your product.
    ..."

In the information about my open RMA in my user account it says:

    "Open RMA Status

    RMA Details

    SERIAL NUMBER: 1303441008800***

Description: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G2 Power Supply

    RMA ID: 336231

    RMA Number: 543213002667

    RMA Received: Pending

    Shipping Status: Pending

    Cross Ship: Pending Collateral

    Shipping Out Option Selected: Ground

    Part Number Out: Pending

    Next Step: Awaiting Credit Card"

Then the next day i received an e-mail telling me that my standard RMA request was approved and should send my product with the not pre-paid label included in the e-mail. What the hell is going on with your automated system guys? First the faulty PSU, and now the automated RMA system its faulty too? My consideration with EVGA its dropping like crazy, wake up guys!!
    Answer Date: 11/26/2013
A: Hi, probably a system failure - already forwarded to our RMA-department and IT department, sorry for the circumstances. Please send the product within the provided PDF "address" to us and may you could print the transfer of the PayPal transaction and put it to the package, that everybody is informed; will write a notifaction to your profile. Please let me know if you´re having any issues left. Thanks. Regards,

(Then tried to submit the following question with no luck. The support system its realy failing!)

"What do you mean by sending the product within the provided PDF address? I already paid the collateral price of the second PSU for you to send me first with a pre-paid shipping label, and now you still want me to send mine first with shipping paid by me? Are you guys serious? I don't want to be without my PC running for a week or even more, thats why i chose and paid for cross-shipping RMA, now that you already have money of 2 PSUs you still want me to send the only one i have?"

Guess I've been lucky so far. Mine's been running flawlessly for months, even though it is identified as affected when I enter my serial number. I have started the process for the cross-shipping. Somewhat patiently awaiting the message for entering my cc info.

BTW, nice of EVGA for the email letting me know. A PSU is something that you put in, give it a go an once its fine you forget about it so I would have never checked this forum anytime soon.

Where did you buy it from?
Did you upload the receipt at the time you registered it?
If you purchased it at one of the big name on line e-tailers (Amazon and New Egg) they have your information stored in your account. You could go there and get a copy if needed.

    Hello,

I bought a 1000G2 Supernova PSU by september at Amazon and shipped to a relatives house, it's one of the ones with the problem reported. My problem is that I live in Lima-Peru but so far PSU has not showed any issue. What can I do in my case considering that I'd have to ship the psu back to USA and then wait for the arrival of the new one considering that I'd have to have my PC off for more than a few days.

    Regards.

just my damn luck... broke down picked up a 1000G2 PSU on Black Friday and read this :(

What a pain in the ass to have to deal with a RMA on a PSU that replaced a dead PSU...

I would get in contact with "scan" and see if they can get you a receipt. I find it somewhat strange that there is no sort of product code or other ID on the receipt.

    killer_hz,

Did you check to see if the serial number is in the recall? According to the notice it should not affect any unit sold after October 1st, 2013.
