Hello All,

We have introduced another option for your forum skin.  It is called EVGA_Light.  Below is how to enable the alternate skin.

1.  Make sure you are logged into your account.
2.  Click on "User Control Panel" at the top of your screen.
3.  Click on "Additional Options"
4.  Use the "Forum Theme" drop down to change the theme to EVGA_Light.
5.  Click "Save Profile"

**EDIT 9/19/13**

We have added another skin.  You can now choose from :

* EVGA [Gray Theme]
* EVGA_Light [White Theme]
* EVGA_Classic_V2 [Classic Theme]

Thanks,
Rob

    Rob,

    Is there any plans to provide a skin that brings the color scheme back to the old way?  The "EVGA_Light" theme is an improvement in terms of contrast and makes the forums easier to use but the old color scheme may be preferred by many including myself.

    +1  The light skin is an improvement for being able to read everything. Seems too bright. We know it is a work in progress.

    Thanks Rob, I like the white, but needs some background color on the edges if possible. This is too much white lol.

    I agree with the assessment that there is now way to much white.  While some may like it I will probably head back to the first one as it doesn't give me snow blindness.  (I know... nag nag...)

    Whoa!  Much better.

    My opinions if you don't mind me expressing them:
    1) Change background color to a darker
    2) Darken up the thread header (small_wrapper) a bit
    3) Change people's rank box away from the bright orange color
    4) Remove text shadow in author info boxes to make text more legible
    5) Reduce #main from 90% to 80% for less left-to-right eye movement
    6) Darken up each post's background a tiny bit

    And maybe you could try smaller text in the footer with not so much contrast.

    The standard has font colors that are too bright, and the Light looks like someone cranked the backlight in my monitor to 500%.  But at least the Light skin is readable without highlighting everything.

    Light skin is a step in the right direction, at least things are slightly easier to read.

    I got used to the new scheme very quickly, I'm not as sensitive with colors as others are.  I think my only preference at this point is being allowed to adjust the colors myself for our own view, via an option in the "edit profile" section.  It would be similar to how Yahoo/Gmail allow custom colors of their email interface.

    We're never going to all agree with colors whether new EVGA default, this "Light version" or what other members suggest; so why not give us the power to decide our own fate, so to speak?

    I think it would be perfect if there was a mix of the two themes. Background the darker color, and white for inside the posts. Would love to see this as an option because this one is way too bright. And the default theme is a problem because of the white text on dark background. So mixing the two would be just right IMO.

    I think I would just like to see a wide range of options for color themes and we go from there.  I know its a work in progress and more improvements will come but I am not crazy about either theme.  The EVGA_Light is better though.

    This will be the extent of the cosmetic changes for the time being.  We may consider other options in the future.

    Thanks,

    Yes I did, classic v2 still has too much white, on the old forum thier was a slight color difference between thread posts, and the thread title list, and now its just pure white, nothing between them.

    There are very light gray breaks in between posts. Might need to be brought down a little?

    Yep, those breaks need to be darker, then the classic v2 will look better.

    Classic V2 is much better and getting closer, but still too bright. Just make the bright white parts light-gray instead and it would be just right.

    Edit: If the posts were separate entities with background between each, that would make it REALLY great. I think that's actually my main issue. The posts blend together.

    Perfect would be black background, gray inside the posts, and each post a separate object with background between each. Last part is probably not possible but thought I'd throw it out there.

    I wonder if you should take a look at your monitor calibration.  I see a very distinct difference in colors between posts and can even see the existing divider perfectly fine.

    First, I think the dotted border around quotes looks tacky.  Just my opinion.

    Second, I think a black divider between posts (such as demonstrated above) sticks out too much.  Just my opinion again.

    Rob see how the quotes have the dark dotted line in classic v2? thats what needs to be between the thread list, and thread posts

    I wonder if you should take a look at your monitor calibration.  I see a very distinct difference in colors between posts and can even see the existing divider perfectly fine.

    I can see the difference too, it's just that it would look even better if the background was shown between each post. Like if each post was a separate lighter colored square on the dark background.
