After going through 2 Window Air Units and temps 90+ I added this Tripp Lite Air Unit and now my temps in my bed room I really mean my server room have cooled down to 68 while 90+ outside.
I have given two other portable Air units a try one was 10,000 and the other a 11,000 and they would not do it for me but this Tripp Lite did do it. I have in a 10x12 room my 2P & 4P heat in the and 3 other servers a PE 1900 a PE 2900 and a PE 840 with heat vented outside running 7x24 and could get my temps below 88 in the room.
Now I have seen a low of 68 and will set or stable the room with this unit and one Windows unit at about 74 to 76. I vented the Hot Exhaust with 6" metal ducting up through my sealing and wrap it as well this did the tick to keep this Really HOT Exhaust down and out of the room. Photos to follow. Bill

Yep, I spent my last 5 years in the US Army in Dallas of all places and I do remember 110+ and hail in Ft. Worth the size of Grapefruits and Softballs.

Dyess is still here and much hotter on the tarmac than in town.

I just use a swamp cooler in my PC room.  Uses 100 watts and cools it from high 80's in the room to 75. Swamp coolers are perfect in an air conditioned home with artificially dried air from lots of electronics.

Cheaper and runs on less power then another air co.

I ran a portable one for a few days and my Window Air Unit started freezing or frosting and the humidity was in the upper 80's and to high. Good thing that Fall is on the way.

If your window unit was freezing up thats not humidity, that means you need to charge your AC unit.

Could be true, it is going on 8 year. Soon most of the stores will start putting their Air Units on sale.
Got a new 10,000 BTU at Home Depot, now I really ready for Fold.

Temps after installing new Air Units:
    CR = Computer Room

CRV = Computer Room Vent or Hot Side

    Out Side Temps:

If the evap coil is icing up it could be low on freon.
Could be a dirty filter, dirty coil, (dirt in the fins, not on outside caked on) low air flow from a dirty blower wheel.
Or the Tstat is set too low, an a/c unit is not made to chill a room down to 65f.
When you turn it on and it runs a for a few min, it should be close to a 20f degree delta Temp. If the air going in is 80 the air out should be close to 60.
If the delta T is small 80 in 75 out, it may be low on freon, ot the condenser coil could be dirty. If the delta T is high 80 in 50 out, filter or coil may be dirty (low air flow)
The delta T goes for the condenser coil too, looking for close to 20f in/out (delta T) if it is high the coil may be dirty.

The old Window one was a mess due to a Cotton Wood Tree.
While I could see light through the fins after I pulled it out of the windows I thought it best to replace it.
The cost over time is more than worth it as the hardware it is cooling now.

With two 4P rigs and my main rig, my office is really warm now. I am going to have to come up with a game plan of some sort to do something like this.

I thought that because we use a hot side and cold side at my workplace I could use the same principle at home.
While I used a Bread Rack from Costco and Tower Type Servers it was a simple task.
Now with an open systems like our 4P systems I found no simple way to create a Closed Hot and Cold like with the Bread Racks.
This is how I ended up with a 2nd Air Unit and put the cold air side to the front of the 12U Rack.
I do plan to move my 2P over to a free slot on my Bread Rack.
I did this today and now my Hot side is 95F up 10 degress. Computer room DOWN 5F and stedy at 72F

I am thinking of getting some 1/4" plywood and boxing in the 2 racks. Make a whole in the front to put a small fan to blow cooler air in and rig up an exhaust flow to the outside window with it cracked open. I can put nails in the window to secure so no one can break in. I may buy some CMU blocks to lift the rack up off the floor a bit to get a more direct path to the outside.
Time to go to the office and 'borrow' some foam core board for a mock-up. Better yet, I may just use the foam core board instead of 1/4" plywood.
Not sure though. I need to take some time to figure out.

That is what is in my windows now but I went with 1/2 inch.
I used this blow from Home Depot but no lid as shown below.

Mine was to small to even give it a try
But I did hit number 5 on the Top 20 today even though I had to turn off one of my Rigs due to Heat.

Well, I made a box out of foam core. All was well for 5 minutes then bottom rig overheated. Ripped off the foam core box and now no more overheating. My office is toasty but the rigs are fine. Let's just hope today is the last 100 degree day for the year.

Remember the intake of Fresh Air to the Exhaust Air. The Presser was so high that my new Air Unit was pulling Air in through the Exhaust and my Hot Side went up to a 100F. So I have some more work ahead.

Now b/c I had to cold boot both rigs back on, when it finished the WUs it was working in( they finished in time for QRB) I did not get the QRB. I just uploaded 3 WUs for 22,000 points, instead of the 600,000 it should be :(

I chalk it up as a learning experience. The good thing is, I think the heat is going away. When winter comes, I am going to open the window to the office and leave it open.
Also, i may look into some aftermarket cooling for my set-ups. The copper hunks of blocks are just too much.
