Jacob you are not making it easy on me to wait for the 800 series. I was bent on "classified has elpida, waiting for 800 series" now that it has samsung it tempting to get a 780 classy.

Now no one can predict market any more and when series 8xx will show up. Better is concentration when you need card.
Maybe on beginning of summer maybe on autumn who know that, nobody except NVIDIA for sure.
I bought GTX580 in August, new and I could leave until Maxwell and choose 10-15 older games for playing but
I wish GK110 because it's excellent chip. That is now. When series 8xx show up maybe first only stock models, maybe EVGA decide to launch Classified after 6 months, maybe NVIDIA decide no voltage increase for any models, who knows 10 things could happen.
This GK110 is now here, performance is good, card is good, memory is Samsung, you have EVBot option and double BIOS if you need performance why to wait, if you don't need performance than you can wait.
GTX780 Classified Samsung is best 780 on market without doubt.
I wouldn't change for stock GTX780Ti or Titan. Card boost very good and without overclocking at all, it's huge and for now best looking card I had ever. Looking from side perfectly fit with other hardware in nice and clean look rigs and you can't miss Samsung now.

Depends when they were made. Could be either Elpida or Samsung, and I believe they have also used Hynix. Honestly, it really doesn't matter. Statistically there is no proof that any are better than the other.

Jacob, I just bought a 780 classy from Newegg.  Do you think I will get the Samsung memory or the Elpida?
Thanks!!

Nvinspector knows as well...

The most recent classys are Hynix/samsung. I think they were plagued with elpida at the release. IMO the kingpin is hogging the samsungs for testing...so Hynix maybe.

Is Hynix better than Elpida memory for overclocking?

It should tell you what memory type you're card has in GPU-Z, it will be in brackets next to where it says GDDR5.
I've got one card with Elpida & one with samsung ( I confirmed it when I put waterblocks on GPU's) . I'm able to get a much higher memory overclock with the elpida memory as opposed to the samsung.
I could be wrong, but I was under the understanding that the samsung has much tighter memory timings making it harder to overclock, but giving it better performance then elpida.
