Looking to purchase a new DVD burner and found that there are not many offerings with Lightscribe (with special media, you can burn a label on your cd/dvd)? Quickly checked the web and found nothing to indicate that this feature is dead. What's going on?

I had lightscribe in its early days and I remember the resolution being poor along with the process being slow. It was an interesting novelty, but not really worth the time. I'm not sure if they fixed that with a newer generation. The lack of the product on the market seems to indicate that they didn't gain enough awareness or support to continue selling it.

It's also an issue when you have to pay for more the compatible discs.

It died out as Nic has stated because of lack of interest
