Decided to mod the E699_122 bios since I was doing a Raid0 configuration with 2 OCZ Vertex 3 SSDs, that required Trim to be enabled. I have tested this with my own setup and haven't had any issues, so I decided to release.

Any links change hxxp to http SPAM filter on the board prevents me from posting direct links.

Disclaimers: Do not ask for support from EVGA, although if you do manage to goof it up, the board comes with 3 BIOS flash modules, 1 is removable. So you can always switch back which is handy

To get full support from the new OROM it's a good idea to redo the array and re-install Windows after you have flashed the updated BIOS. This modification is based on the legacy RAID option <Ctrl - I > setup not EFI RAID

New WHQL Recommended Drivers  to use Intel RST driver/software 12.8.0.1016 with RAID OROM 12.7.0.1936

Download it here:  hxxp://www.win-raid.com/t2f23-Intel-R-RST-RSTe-Drivers-actual-RST-e-v-WHQL.html

ROM File:  Z77_FTW_Intel_Raid v12.7.0.1936.zip hxxp://www.mediafire.com/?5lc7g2hpe8tj967

You will need the utilities bundled from the official updates to flash the ROM file. I recommend doing it through DOS.

    thanks for contribution.

not sure how many people still ride z77 ftw (I sent mine back and went with asus as it has much stronger support from community), but surely those that do will appreciate the modded BIOS with latest OROM for SSD RAID0 and TRIM!

to be honest I do not understand why vendors (asus included, I use a community modded BIOS 1802 with OROM 12.7.0.1936, EFI enabled) do not simply put new OROM in latest BIOS files, nobody does it even when board is still actively supported still all new BIOS releases come with same old factory out-dated OROM (11.0.0) ... it's just beyond me.

BTW, there are new IRST WHQL drivers, released recently 12.7.1.1000

I don't understand nothing about Intel ME Firmware and Driver,
I only Install when new show up on station-driver site.

IME is a separate piece of BIOS firmware (one of modules), but unless you run win8 you shouldn't worry about it. I did update mine on MVE for better win8 compatibility though.

as per OROM, that is firmware for RAID servicing and this one is very important for people running RAID, especially with SSD. There were tons of bug fixes and improvements in 12.7 vs stock 11.0
On top of that new drivers alone won't be able to use those new features when coupled with an old firmware, it's best to upgrade them (OROM fw + IRST sw) in pairs.

For SATA AHCI however, using the latest IRST is probably sufficient since RAID mode is not utilized (AHCI setting in BIOS means OROM is not used).

What you think what is best Intel ME Firmware version for Z77 board. I mean non ASUS installation, I see many of them, some are not present on Intel Download Center.
That whole thing about Intel ME is little tricky for people who don't undertand, I have experience how many different show up on different sides.

Yes I use last Intel RST for AHCI Mode, iastor.
But for my one SSD exactly as you say I didn't saw some difference maybe is even 1% worse example but that is driver mania to install everything. I install and Marvell and Marvell raid and E-SATA, everything what even disable I install.
Only Realtek I uninstall and disable now because now I use SB Z.

I run latest IME software driver (9.x something) that I get straight from Windows 8 Updates, that's the only driver I take from win updates since they are extremely hard to find in Intel Downloads for me.

as per IME firmware, my board runs 8.1.x something, whatever updater was in Asus Downloads (out of date of course, from a year ago). I've seen more recent minor revision on new MVE board at friend's place, but ASUS doesn't care to put the updater in downloads I guess and they never will ... I was trying to locate a generic IME firmware update in Intel Downloads and get it ... but

it is all a driver/firmware updating mania with everything LOL! wondering when they start releasing firmware updates for monitors ... or headphones

They don't release the new OROM package since their own QA dept has to test them extensively, hence why they usually just package the one they originally tested the board in.

The older WHQL drivers do not have Trim support enabled unfortunately, but a new release WHQL 12.8.0.1016 has them enabled. I've updated the post.

12.5 IRST didn't have TRIM, but nearly all others above 11.5 do the TRIM just fine. 12.8 was a beta last time I checked, they must have approved it literally yesterday!

I wish I would have waited and got the EVGA Z87 w/ 4770k. Seems like a much much better platform. Oh well, I will try this ROM, and see what happends. Thanks guys.

I'm sorry to because I need to miss Z87 Classified but really no point spending money except better motherboard with more function and same processor only hotter... I can't achieve with 4770K same score in CINEBENCH 15 as I can with overclocked 3770K, simply is impossible because most samples I saw is 90C on 4.2GHz... Owners avoid Prime95 and LinX as devil...If you see 4.5GHz stable in signature most of them is game stable on more than 75C and if turn Prime95 temps hit 95-100C for few seconds... Maybe revision will be better but my objective is X99 Classified. I would like if EVGA make two version of Classified example as for X58...
With 4 way SLi and 80-100$ cheaper with options for 2 GPU. Because I don't want to sacrifice angled connectors, best look and premium board and 4-5 PCI E ports will be very expensive...But it's to early we will see...

So you don't think its worth the upgrade at all then? Are you running this moddiefied 1.22 Bios? Further more, are you running a raid 0 config with 2x SSD? perhaps its worth it to wait for the X99, and get a set of 880GTX Classifieds when they are availabale. I do like the design of the Z87 a lot better. The mobo looks much cleaner, and no fan. Also the bios is a nice touch over the Z77. Do you know if the Z87 mobo has issue with sleep running SSD?

I run normal BIOS 1.22 last, it's not moddiefied I think.
Not RAID, only SSD-SSD-HDD. I think worth waiting X99, to be honest for 3770K owners I don't see some importance for upgrade from mainstream before Skylake...but X99 worth... Example I'm not so rich to try 4930K and after that Haswell E, but IB-E is nice upgrade too.
Because of  that I need to think when became necessary for upgrade, X99 I see as good chance for one little longer, little expensive build than for now. i7-5930K and some nice X99 motherboard example. I like design of Z87 too, I liked from first day, but for now I must be satisfied with this, and our motherboard is nice, have some old style look, I like that, similar as Z68 FTW and previous motherboards as SR-2... I say one of best looking motherboards, I could not imagine how much motherboards EVGA can sell if someone write stable BIOS as ASUS and connect all that nice hardware on EVGA motherboards.
I didn't saw our friend feniks long time...

You make some valid points. I will wait to upgrade. I am not so rich either . However I would like to try out an X series chipset. I have never owned one. With the X99, sounds like the Intel E series chips come with 8 cores, and with HT enabled would be 16!. So that will be neat. I should probably get rid of my raid 0 SSD setup. It is a problem waiting to happen. I went with raid 0 for SSD because a single 512MB SSD hardrive was way to much money. But now that I see the 1TB SAmsung Evo SSD is onsale for 499.99, maybe I will just upgrade to that and eliminate raid 0 config. I probably should have followed suit with feniks, when he ditched his EVGA Z77, and got Asus. But like you say, if EVGA engineers can really hammer out the bios bugs in the future to come with the boards they release, and how well they are made, they could really have a shot at the hardware market for all PC enthusiest. When I got my EVGA Z77, I could really tell the components were quality. The board looks and feels like a million bucks. Just wish it functioned better. Either way, I am pretty sure I am an EVGA lifer. I will always buy EVGA video cards, I have been since the old 6800GT days. Maybe it was a 7950GT I can't remember...

And 6 + HT is enough. I never tried Extreme too.
I see big difference in P scores in benchmarks only and only because Extreme Processors.
But for 2 years we can expect and this architecture to give maybe little less GPU score... For now is OK.

I agree, EVGA graphic cards are really something special and I think everybody should try, out of competition completely.
I didn't like my PC so much before I start to buy their hardware after I choose exactly their model what I like.
Now I see many EVGA PSU in computers of people who didn't try EVGA cards and motherboard before, that mean only one, customers recognize quality products, nice look and good price, in one word excellent offer.
