Just pick one of these up. They run good with a TPF of around 21 minutes, which is similar to the 8103's on my servers, but the PPD is around 70,000 points less. THAT blows! Thanks again Stanford for more stupidity.

Sadly I thinks its a result of Stanford NOT having a Bigadv machine to bench on, so it's straw time again.

does the 8105 have about the same ppd for you as the 8101?

Yes I think the 8105 should have the same points value as the 8103
with 22607 value for the TPF its taking to work the 8105.

I reported this but there hasn't been a change in the points value yet.

If it was equal to a 8104 points value 17153 the TPF would be much shoter.

Think there was just a mix up on what the value should be for this 8105 project.

    Update:
"kasson"Please note the above comment about the assigns being a pre-benchmarking leak.  8105 is a clone of neither 8103 nor 8104 but a kind of hybrid between them.  We expect 8105 to perform somewhere between 8103 and 8104.  Our benchmarking setup has finally picked up a work unit, so we should be able to assign points within the next day or so (and there shouldn't be more bigbeta assigns between now and then).
If you have performance data, it would be good to know time to complete (or TPF) values compared to both 8103 and 8104.

So if you have the data he needs please report it here: http://foldingforum.org/v...2086969f9313912383a271
or post it here and I'll be glad to pass it along.
If you have it give the data for all three project running " complete (or TPF)" on the same rig.
    Thanks

J: The 8105 actually has less PPD than the 8101 on the same server.

W: Will do. As soon as it's done running I will send that info to him.

Added TPF for 16 core 2P.
Yes the 8101's were killing me the past 4 days.
    Glad to see something different.
Now they need to adjust the points for the 8101 since it takes the longest to work.

I'm experiencing some throttling issues... still getting work done but it stinks!

Wolf... just fold and shut up! That is meant in the nicest of ways of course!

Picked up some outdoor CAT5 today to run to the basement... have to do it outside the house.  Also scoped out a potential 6 - 4P shelving unit for 35 bucks... I'm considering it.

I have some whopper dynatrons coming... server level fans and heatsinks... that's going to fix the throttling issue I hope.

Meanwhile the rest of you just get it in gear and fold like your life depends on it!  Or... someone else's does.  Love all of you!

You don't want an 8105. The PPD is lower than an 8101.

It is around the ppd of a 8103.

I have yet to see an 8105 and happily 8101's seem thin on the ground as well
