This is my build log for putting my 650d under water. It's going to take a while to complete, but I think it will be worth it in the end. The parts list is planned for the following (could be subject to change): 680 classified water block and back plate x2 - received Black Ice GTS Gen Two Stealth 420 - received Phobya Xtreme 200mm Radiator - received Bitspower Matt black/carbon black compression fittings EK x3 tube res 150/250 - received EK-Supremacy - Acetal Has anyone heard of this? I'm kind of brainstorming this right now, and need to start a log of the build too. I've been planning on water cooling my 650d and I've been thinking about the following options with all including a 200mm rad up front: [1] 240 rad up top in push/maybe with 360 rad off the back [2] 280 up top in push/maybe with a 360 rad off the back I was really wanting to keep all of the rads inside of the case, basically for aesthetics. So I kept looking for other options, and I came across a 420 shroud that koolance makes. From what I can tell, from taking measurements of the top of my case and the shroud, it should fit, basically covering the mesh and external drive bay entirely. From the looks of it, I could cut out the external drive bay and cut out all of the top of the case going back to the mesh. Doing this would allow the rad to get the airflow unrestricted. While the shroud should cover up all of the cuts and allow for a nice clean look. As for the radiator, I'm looking at a Black Ice GTS Gen 2 Stealth 420. I measured from the top of the rear exhaust fan to the top of the case and figured it was ~69mm (2.75 in). Assuming that all goes well, the shroud should give me ~30mm of additional height. Totaling about ~99mm (~4 in) of clearance. Taking in account of the radiator which is ~31mm thick, and two 140mm fans that are ~25mm thick. I should have more than enough room to clear my motherboard heat sinks and ram. Does this sound about right so far? Anyone have any input as of any additional issues that could arise?

Here's a picture of what it would cover, ignore the over markings other than the blue. I'll be ordering the shroud tomorrow.

Yes, I don't like rad out of case too... It's bad because no place at least for 360mm radiator inside of case without cut... This would be interesting... post more pictures I have 650D too and I love my case.

I ordered the shroud an hour ago, I should be receiving it next week. I'll be taking photos, and jotting down my thoughts throughout the build. Would everyone be interested in photos of the build as it sits? No mods done really, just cut out the front mesh to increase airflow and decrease noise in the front 200mm fan.

I thought lot about 360mm radiator in 650D and keep fabric look and I will measure to see maybe is way two fan pull and three fan push... Two in pull can put down rad little, maybe that is enough to push 360mm radiator in DVD-RW cage... Because no need for DVD-RW, external is much better option today and for management and everything, two fans can give little space to rad go little in cage...I'm not sure is it that enough because plastic part inside... But that is good option becase DVD cage hide connection radiator-pump and only tubes go in CPU and GPU. Second is always simple option where 240mm cool CPU and one 120mm cool GPU. One 120mm can cool ASUS ARES II, in custom loop much better special one graphic chip in full cover block. I say 240mm and 120mm because BEST WORLD FANS ARE 120MM FANS AND THAT IS IMPORTANT THING. No CORSAIR, No Gentle Typhoons, No Noiseblocker Multiframes, everything is 120mm. Off course one 200mm rad can cool GPU too, but it's big and ugly for me and useless if you change case. OK post pictures, good idea, but 650D look wonderful from top. That simple top panel is detail because I love 650D.

I used the same radiator shroud but for 120mm fans to put a 480mm rad in the top of my old 800D Worked out pretty good, and allowed me to run push/pull fans on the radiator.

That's what I'm planning. Since the 650d is smaller, I figured the 420 rad would cool better than a 360 and would look a lot better since the shroud will cover most-if not all of the top after cutting.

This was mine all installed, the color difference wasn't as far off as it looks in the picture. I could have fit a 360 in the top stock, but wanted the biggest I could fit. I didn't go with 140mm fan rads because the 120mm fan rad fit into the top drive bay and the 140mm rads wouldn't.

I thought about that too, but I believe the 360 rad would not cover the mesh on the top of the 650d. So I chose the 420 rad, lower noise fans, maybe better temps.

I received my 420 rad, and also three bitfenix spectre pro fans. The fans fit perfectly into the top of the drive bay, and the radiator definitely fits in the top.. not sure if it fits into the drive bay, there's a chance that it wouldn't go down that far anyway. I'll post some pictures up here soon.

Sweet, you might be interested to see this http://themodzoo.com/foru...install-corsair-800d/. That was installing a 420 into the top of an 800D. So your modifications will be similar and probably a little more extreme. Not saying it's not doable. Just maybe a little more work. Anyway, good luck and hope to see finished pics soon.

I read that post a few weeks back, basically made me make up my mind to do it. I'm hoping that I won't have to cut into the 5.25 bay, knowing that the 140mm fan would fit with millimeters to spare.. and knowing that the 650d's drive bay expands another inch wider going to the top of the case I'm hoping that it would just sit above the drive cages. If not, I'm not afraid to cut And thanks!

Here's some pictures of the fans and rad! This rad feels really high quality, the 140mm bitfenix fans feel a lot better than the 200mm big brother. Here's the fans seated on the rad. Not a big fan of the 20mm spacing, but who cares. They move quite a bit of air, and are super quiet. I might have them run 100%.

I've been thinking a lot about what route I'm going to take for the loop order, or rather the loop in general. I've come up with this awesome sketch (sarcasm). My only concerns are: 1. I'm not sure how well the ek reservoir would fit in between the dvd drive/5.25 bay and the two 680 classys, and if it will align the inlet/outlet fittings how I'd like. 2. I also don't know how well the D5 pump would fit with two fans in between the front 200 rad and two spectre pro fans in push pull and the hdd cage..

Thanks! It took my a while to decide on cutting it up. I had while to sit and measure and eyeball to see if it would actually work out, I was about 90% sure it would. Man, I wanted a lian li but settled for this. Hopefully the 650d won't disappoint! It hasn't for the year and a half that I've had it.
