CHALLENGER X

Project: LOTUS

Always wanted to do a case mod, but never had any ideas of what to do. After talking so some peeps about water cooling we found a bunch of crazy setups with a Cosmos S, instantly I felt inspired  to work with that case. I wouldn't be losing any cooling efficiency either since the fan placement for intakes on the Cosmos along with exhaust would make it a great replacement for my Antec.

Now this is just probably going to be a case mod so far. I was originally planning on doing my first water build in this case, but more and more I think about maintenance to keep it running good, plus the fact that I will need more than juts a triple rad I decided to can it.

Here are some concept pics of some ideas I had floating around for paint schemes:

    CHALLENGER X

Couple pictures that I took while messing around of my HAF X (some slightly better ones if you've already seen it before):

Got the idea for the Enermax cable ties on the sleeved cables from KShirza1 so just wanna mention him just in case I get accused for stealing or something even though his looks better, lol.

If you're wondering what happened to the Accelero cooler sticker, I accidentally tore it applying a Vinyl

Ambient Music, ignore the following video.

Looks good so far You may want to consider having a few extra holes behind the motherboard itself for fan cables and the front panel audio.

    I am ninja:

The holes are there, you must move like the grasshopper... while eating... like a stalk.

Actually there's 3 holes at the top to route the fans to the rear and the front panel fans holes are drilled in to the 5.25" bay. I never liked front panel audio/ usb, so I "ninja" chopped them. And the 2-pin jumper for HDD status etc will just use the hole right below it.

The holes I drilled out will also be equipped with rubber gromet thingies too, so you'll be able to see the holes, but like 1/4"in of it. Hopefully it looks "good".

Oh, forgot to say that the paint job was going to be done in a local Body Shop that offered to do it, that's like the only "pro" part of this build probably.

But, should come out looking like a side panel of a white civic or something. (that's the white I chose, rofl!!!)

Oh btw, and I appreciate the kind comments on my crappy photoshop job!

I think I've decided on this being the final after slamming my head against my desk for about an hr.

I'll take my chance at dremeling the design instead of getting someone to do it, may be a personal touch. And if it all goes good, having a cathode/ LED tube in the 5.25" bay it should light up for a cool effect, dunno yet.

Since I am practically new to anything and everything, this will probably be the least most complex and make my life easy for if I decide to do quick swaps.

Too bad you didn't wait another couple days to pick up your Cosmos S though, I'm gonna sell mine as soon as I get the new rig built.

Getting closer to final. Just waiting on Acrylic panels for the PSU and the white/ red sleeve kit I ordered. Some other things like the panels have to be adjusted a tad bit more, but other than that, it's pretty much done.

As for the water setup I planned, it's been scrapped. I'd rather spend $800 on eyefinity or something.
