nateman_doo hot DAMN!! good stuff!!! No nateman. DAMN COLD! Just kicked it on to see if it compressing like it should (plugged into USB header on old 780i board) and it iced up in a matter of a few minutes. I bought the unit from overclocker333 and I'm figuring it will easily do what his pics showed which was -66C. Here's the pic he posted. Really looking forward to doing some clocking with this puppy. Oh, and nateman. Change your Micro Block link in your sig to this. http://forums.evga.comarchive/tm.asp?m=100890649&mpage=1&key=

UPDATE: Well, got a little time to test a few things before preparing the mobo for the deep chill. First had to make a USB connection to hook from the mobo to the controller card. Then had to make a connection from the controller card to the mobo power switch jumper. Hooked the Cooler Master 1100 up to the mobo with 12/5 molex to controller card. Installed the Super Talent mem, GTX 280, and my trusty USB Floppy drive. Powered the PSU on, shorted the power switch jumper on the Chill controller card, waited a few seconds and then the compressor kicked on the the mobo. Of course I didn't have the chill set up on the board as I haven't completed the board prep yet. But I went ahead and did it this way to fully test the chill and to also flash the 760 to the latest bios (came with S60V [:P]). After the flash completed, I rebooted and shut down. When I shut the mobo down the compressor shut down also. I cleared the bios then rebooted the chill. Since the temp was already around -55c the mobo came on automatically. I went to the bios, loaded defaults, the warm boot. Chill stayed running. All doing just as they should. I entered back into the bios just to see how things would clock. Knowing the CPU could clock I decided to try the mem out. Now remember, this is some cheap $159 Super Talent. Anyway, these are the only settings I changed for first time OC of the mem. All others were left at default. Multi: 20x = 3220 Host Freq. 153 MCH Strap: 1600 UNCore: 4293 28x MEM Freq: 1867 2:14 = 2146 CPU VTT: +300 DIMM Vol: 1.620 Auto Timings: 9,9,9,28,88,1t,5,24,6,11,65,67,69,0,6,6,18,10,10,10,7,6,4,7,7,7 Figuring it would simply stick at 25 or reboot several times and return in safe mode, I wasn't really eaxpecting anything. Well, I hit F10, Y, then waited for me having to shut the psu off and clear cmos or come back up in safe mode. But to my surprise it went straight through the boot codes and gave me a normal beep. I then entered the bios and low and behold, it was running at settings. Voltages were all correct. So this for sure was a pleasing out come. Of course now I have to see if it will do the same with higher qpi. Also whether it will hold up under stress of install and system running stress test. Till then (hopefully during week), I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping all goes as easily as it has so far. Now I'm off to change the TIM on NB/SB and MOSFETS. Then I'll prepare the mobo for the chill. Hopefully I can get most assembled in case tomorrow. I'll also get some pics up of the progress.

Glad to know the Vapo made it there in good shape... last test will be to get that software up and running ... I never got it that far. Can't believe you robbed me and you didn't even have a gun...LOL...ROFL... and crying too!!!! You got a great deal as I'm sure you know... it was just meant to be that you have this Vapo! Take it easy on us when you get it going... I'm liking my standings in the "i7 Stability Club" thread... I don't know how long that's going to last though. I think there are a lot of People with nice chips and rigs that have yet to post... like you... lol!!! *Club i7 Stability* http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=7747

Well after some more test on how far the QPI will go, I'm now a bit disappointed (unless I'm missing something). If I attempt to boot with QPI around 230 and higher then it will not complete a boot code sequence. I usually stops either at b8 or 01 or 10. This still is with memory at modest clocks and timings and voltages are at good level and cpu clocked low. Give me time tho, I'll figure it out.

Max I can boot is 21 X 221... with pcie @ 105 from there I have to raise it with Eleet. Are using a low multi? You must be... because no way you can do 21 X 230 without extreme cooling.

Ok folks. A little progress report. So far I've replaced TIM on NB/SB. Also Plastic Coated bottom of board with 2 good coats. Here's a few pics. Little tape to cover mounting holes so Plastic coat doesn't oooz through. Taped off socket area also for prep for P/J. Another 30min or so before I do that. Now to move to the back. Cleaned it up with some Contact Cleaner. First coat applied. Hour later and on goes the second coat. Waiting for second coat to dry and then on to putting P/J on and then mounting VapoChill Kit. Hope to be back in another hour with more pics. L8r.

Well folks. Here are some more update pics as promised. Finished Plastic Dip on back and installed backplate for VapoChill. Now to lube this (uh seal this) puppy up. Time for a little P/J. Now a little more P/J. I know it looks like a lot but you never have to much P/J when it comes to chillin. Now to put a little heat on the subject. Ahhh, so smooth. Now to lock the cpu in and add a little more P/J. A little more heat. Now for the first socket gasket and even more P/J. Now the final gasket. Now this is what took me so long. Decided to do some major insulating of my VapoChill. Looks good don't it? With that I'll say good night. On and just to give you a little hint as to how it's doing so far. I just installed Win 7 ULT running at 4.4ghz using 1.4v vcore, +400 vtt, 1.65 vdimm and mem at 2133. All went well and temps barely moved from -43c. I love my VapoChill.

Once you tip over the heat load that it can handle, the temp just keeps going up until you crash. The big test is wPrime - load up all those cores and see how the temp goes.

Well been tinkering a bit and I think I either have the chill head tighened down to tight or my cpu is not quite seated properly (maybe to much P/J). Anyway, only 4 out of the 6gig is ahowing up. Will have to break down later to find out qhich it is. Akso having abit of a problem getting over 222qpi. When I do 223 and above, boot code will stop at either 75 (HD Detect) or 89 (ACPI Load). Really odd it does it at 223 and up. Any idea?

I'm thinking it's probably the cpu needs reseating. May have put to much P/J in the socket. Have tried what you mentioned. Seems that the first channel (slots 1 and 2) of both banks are showing up properly for the bios to see but cpuz and windows 7 sees all of it but gives me the 4gig usable crap. Don't have time to ness with it tonight. Hopefully Friday evening or as late as Sunday.

i was having the same problem.... it seems to be socket number 5. it would show 6 gigs in windows but only 4 was usable. i moved them all and even removed a chip from each socket. and found it to be socket 5. if p/j was the problem...your computer wouldn't even turn on....(speculation of course)
