Hi,
i got Sound crackle with my EVGA GTX 690.
and the DPC Latency Checker show me very high latency in widnows and games, so i get crackle sound.
I have write to Nvidia support and tested all drivers for 690 whql and beta, but nothing fixed the issue.
Is the card broken or have all GTX 690 high latencys, would be nice if anyone can test it with his GTX 690 and post his chipset of Mainboard.

    Are you using onboard audio?

i tested with onboard sound and pci-e sound.
with my old gtx 580 i have no problems and low dpc latency under 60us ingame and windows they dont change.
With GTX 690 i get high latency in windows 700us and in games 1000us - 22000 and then i get my crackle sound.
Its not the sound drivers its only when i use GTX 690.

    Here my Spec:
    Windows 7 64-bit
    SSD OCZ Vertex 3 240GB
    8 GB DDR 3 1600
    Asus P8Z68-Deluxe
    X-FI Titanium PCI-e
    Antec 1200 Watt PSU
Or is the Intel chipset Z68 inkompatible to GTX 690?

The last days i wrote with Nvidia Support, tell him my problems and tested some drivers and at the end he says

    "Hello Marcel,

    Thank you for updating us.

This card is broken. Please contact the place of purchase (Since this is a newly purchased card) and replace this.

Thank you for contacting NVIDIA Customer Care.

    Best regards,
    Sen
    NVIDIA Customer Care"

but i cant expect that this card is broken

So your running a PCI or a PCIEx1 sound card?
Please post the exact model number
Is the onboard sound device disabled in the BIOS

What is your output device? are you using speakers or headphones. are they connected by a plug jack or USB..
What other devices might you have attached that have audio functions.. like a webcam with a mic etc

Please post what slot you have the X-fi card in

Problems like this are most often caused by "proximity" issues. The sound card too close to the videocard, poorly shielded front panel audio jacks or incorrect cable management.

    pci-e x1
    onboard sound disabled in bios,
other pci-e slots tried no change,
tested with speakers and 2 headsets
    format c:
AND in the PC from my brother with X58 Chipset, we got the same problems.
its not the sound card, it is the driver bios or firmware of bios or the card itself, it's probably the same error as before the gtx 460 had by other users.

If already tried to put the x-fi out and disabled onboard sound but no change, always the same high DPC Latency.
The sound crackle comes with high DPC Latency.

When i install my old gtx 580 all is good and i got very low DPC Latency lower than 50.
With GTX 690 the latency is about 500 - 22000
trust me i have try many things i am not a noob in computers

I need a person who can test 690 with another Intel Z68 board maybe its a issue with this board and X58

I would disconnect the front panel audio headers that connect to the jacks on the front of your computer case and test.

You also should post more complete config info
Do you have a Custom clean install of your Nvidia drivers -without- the NV HD audio drivers?

Remember the GTX 690 uses a great deal of bandwidth. DPC latency issues can be caused by attached devices, device driver conflicts and even USB overpolling...

It could be the card, the motherboard or a driver issue, but its always best to test the easy stuff that if most often the cause. Would be a shame to RMA a card, only to have the same issues again.

    Sorry your having problems

"Do you have a Custom clean install of your Nvidia drivers -without- the NV HD audio drivers?" Yes

"I would disconnect the front panel audio headers that connect to the jacks on the front of your computer case and test." Not connected

    Deplug mouse and keyboard already
I have deplug all of my hardware who i dont need to start my pc and disabled all possible drivers in device manager
    no changes

    :(
probably the best is i send it back to Alternate de
when the new card have the same issues, then i think my mainboard is inkompatible to the card ( Intel Z68 )
then i have to bought a new mainboard -.-

would be nice anyone can post his latency of gtx 690 with DPC Latency checker, and post his mainboard chipset.

Or a EVGA employee can test it with an GTX 690
In Windows and Ingame (FullscreenWindowmode like Starcraft, Diablo 3 or any Sourceengine game)

    Current Latency:
    Absolute Maximum:

    my values:

EVGA GTX 690 (intel Z68 chipset)
    Current Latency: 400-800 very unstabile
Absolute Maximum: 22000 (in games or youtube and sound crackle, stutter)

    GTX 580 (intel Z68 chipset)
Current Latency: 35-50 very stabille (in games or youtube its the same)
    Absolute Maximum: 80

I always deinstall in safe mode and clean with ccleaner and driver sweeper for a clean install.

ok why the GTX 690 have so high latencys? normal latencys are under 100
thats very bad, when the cards clocked down the latencys goes up

in some other forums, i have read that the GTX 690 have some Latency problems and its hardware based -.-

Why Nvidia dont test this issue and sell buggy cards?

Like said in other threead dont use DPC Latency  checker its show incorrect values when using OS above xp. Also if you base latency are that high, either Turn off Hpet in the bios or turn it on and use the above tweak.

Bios on +above tweak should net the lowest latency, some say off is better cause it stops stuttering.
