Upload your 670, 680 BIOS files. Here is a link to an updated version of GPUz that will save the kepler BIOS file. Thanks w1zzard! http://www.techpowerup.co...48112&d=1344772659 I can unlock the fan to 100% using HxD but not the voltages yet, I'm still researching that aspect. If you want 100% capable fan then upload your BIOS file so I can mod it.

I would be interested in being able to get 100% fan speed unlocked, I will upload my bios for you in a couple days, when I have a chance, (getting my wisdom teeth taken out tomorrow) so I am not sure if I will have a chance to mess with it for a couple days.

Cool! Good luck with the wisdom teeth removal. I had my bottom ones removed in the mid 1980s when they where buds. The dentist said I would not have enough room for them to grow in my mouth. Wish they would of taken the top ones out too. They will give you pain pills so you be fine, the mouth heals fast.

There's an unlocked bios thread on OCN called "GTX 670 Unlocked Voltage Bios". Go look at 15-20 pages back on it. A guy named TecFreak explains how to modify the default voltage and clock speeds and resign the bios.

There are a lot of Kepler BIOS files available within this thread: http://www.mvktech.net/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,34/func,view/id,63617/catid,10/limit,10/limitstart,670/ There's an EVGA Classified 680 one that I have my eyes on. Interested in 100% fan and removing the 70C throttle...plus further voltage unlocking past the limits set on EVBot (which I believe are 1.35v?). EDIT: I've uploaded my BIOS file here (it's from being on the LN2 switch BIOS, if that matters). It's just a default EVGA BIOS (no mods) from the LN2 switch on the card - can you mod it so I can use 100% fan (instead of the 55% cap on Classifieds?)? Thanks!

Modifying the BIOS would void the warranty. You need to return it with the stock BIOS.

I tried to edit a Classy BIOS for 100% fan but there tables are different than the ref 680s. Unless I can get a clock table for the classy no dice. Tecfreak did post a clock table pdf for the 670s with the before and after values to change for more volts, power target etc. Add more fan rpm to keep the kepler cooler voids the warranty. lol Dumb down the fan for less cooling and performance increase. Why does the classy only run at 55% when REF cards run at 85%? Or is the Classy 55% really the 85%. Miss 3DFX RIP

thanks for links and help. I found the plain unmodded copy of GTX 670 reference (2670 model) BIOS, posted it in other thread last night, but forgot about this one. if anybody wants the evga BIOS copy (ver19) from before the official GPU update (for stability improvements, ver31) then you can get it following links in this thread: http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=1707608

Just out of curiosity... BIOS is software (well, firmware). It's my understanding that it is copyright. Is it even legal to freely, openly trade EVGA's firmware around and modify them? Or are these Nvidia's firmware? Still the same questions apply. Now, on the other hand... If you modified and bricked your own Video card, it's one thing. But if your modification bricked someone else's cards? Who is legally responsible? Yep something to watch out for. Just saying.

it's as simple as using any OTHER than official BIOS voids warranty, no matter if you brick it in the process of flashing or when using later, the warranty is null. however you can switch between official supported BIOSes freely as you like. I have no idea about copyrights of firmware, but since it is an official update, I don't see a point of asking if it's legal to distribute it (or make mods based on it which once flashed voids warranty of card) ... really, you are doing everything on your own responsibility, if you don't like it then don't do it, there is no point in looking for a "guilty one" as it will be always you, no matter who modded that BIOS which you used ... are you a lawyer by the way?

If you semi have experience with flashing FW you will be fine and always have a spare card and you will be golden. Always keep you original BIOS and always flash it back before you send in the hardware.
Please don't call the FW police.....

I tried a custom bios I found. Fan speed wasn't changed, but voltage was unlocked to 1.21 and my cards boosted to 1280, but my second card can't handle being forced to run at 1280 and crashes 3DMark. Guess I need to wait until someone posts a hex key list for the 680's like they did for the 670's so I can do it myself.

I really can't picture the classy fan at 100% being a good thing... that sized fan running at 6,000rpm...? As far as I know no one has found a way to remove/spoof the overcurrent protection, so with normal applications the classified is still stuck at 1.35v without soldering it.

So what do you guys think about the classy BIOS? Any chance that we can figure it out ourselves? Couldn't we just hunt around in the hex until we find values that match... say max and min fan speed? Logically wouldn't that be the spot to change it?

I can help you, too. It's easy to mod the bioses to change the fan speed limit. I can change the minimum and maximum limit. for example GTX 680 Classified bios mod (fanspeed to 100%): but I'm not sure, if it's allowed to upload the modded bioses here - so i would send the modded bioses per PM to you?! I only need the original bios.
