just tweeted by EVGA_JacobF:

Just a heads up, we will select the dual socket board winner upon release of the board!

Makes me wonder when it'll be released, I heard some rumors of April, so it may be awhile it seems I wish we could get a estimate of when the release is, IE, Days away, Weeks away, or months away? though chances are the release date has not be decided no doubt.

We need to know well in advance so the winner can get their acceptance speach ready.

I am wondering about the expected number of sales for this board. It looks awesome, but also like something the average power user will not leap onto.

That's a bit confusing. Does it mean there was a winner selected and he/she is under a NDA or are they going to actually pick with winner when the board is released?

EDIT: It takes time to print Flyers, Brochures, and make the box art along with printing the boxes. If Jacob could give any more details that would be nice.

but if we know the winner that will reveal the new name for the board. After all the winner did name the board.

I wonder, is the release of EVGA's new youtube video a hint at the name selected?

But please no jokes about the release date being April 1st.

I just hope they don't pull a slimey one and announce the winner but don't actually tell the individual, and instead give them a week to respond to the announcement or they miss out.. kinda rough when nobody knows exactly when it will be announced (this is how the MODSRIGS prizes are done, which is why I mention it).

+1. I never understood why they couldn't have an automated email sent to the winner. I've missed out on a prize because I didn't know I had won. >.>

Maybe they have to design the artwork and make the first box to take pics of it to announce the winner that way.

At the very least, such a board may not show prior to Gulftown, so easily after Mar 16th of this year.  Not that there aren't any CPUs to use, there are the Gainestowns, but you know.

I'll congradulate the winner now anyway.

Im more curious why Jacob doesn't ever post anything in the forums. One would think the general Discussion forum should be more important than twitter. I surpose its more about giving the press information than Evga forum users

At the very least I'd like a "Top-10" list of the final choices they had to deal with...   This way we had *some* idea of who it could be!

    Top 10 would be fun...

I also like the idea of EVGA sending a personal notification to the winner.

I vote sticky on this thread, until the boards release.

I'd place my bets on at least a semi-active forum member, as this actually does involve some skill of knowing some sorta name that would fit in the evga product naming scheme...but then again who knows.

Could be anything...could be one of the forums "best" members.
On the otherhand, could be somebody with a single post to name the board, that will never post again.
...kinda wish there was a 50 post minimum to enter these kinda things, oh well :)

I understand what you mean, but it is an open contest and it's based on a good name not so much who came up with it.
