Like the title says, when can we expect a bios to add support for the new Ivy Bridge CPUs? I'm thinking of picking up a 3570K but we haven't had a bios release for P67 FTW for months.

This question has already been asked without replies, that I have seen from EVGA.
Question I would want to ask is " Will the new BIOS add the capablitly to have Native PCIe 3.0 to the EVGA P67/Z68 motherboards?"

I tried PMing EVGA and never got a response.. Its been at least a week. I have not seen EVGA reply to any messages in the P67/Z68 forums in a while. I think they are going to wait a while and release their Z77 boards first to try and get people to but those.

Careful what you wish for, my "understanding" is SLI will no longer work with P67 and Ivy.

IMO that information may NOT be correct for all Mobo's.  The Block Diagram for IB distinctly shows the CPU outpust a x16 at PCIe 3.0 OR 2 x8 at PCIe 3.0 or some other things like PCIe 3.0 at x8 and 1 x4 and thunderbolt.  The PCU is the SouthBridge and does not do the PCIe 3.0

Well I'm no expert on this and doing some minimal research turned up nothing. The guy at HardOCP has changed his thoughts on this but now says 6XX may have issues in SLI.

No company will tell when they are releasing a BIOS.  You just will have to wait until its done and released.

This is disappointing that there is no ETA. Would of thought after a month it would be ready or close to ready since I see other companies pushing it out for 12-15 mobo already. But hopefully they are stable and worth the wait.

I'd be willing to bet that nVidia's issues with the 600 series have required a little bit of time from the EVGA people and as a result have seriously slowed down the progress here.

Of course, that being said, it did take the mobo team forever to get the P67 released.  So maybe it's not their favorite one to work on...

It's also a little disappointing that they have updated the Z68 months ago and the P67 still sits and waits...

Your choice, go with ASUS, is a good board. However, your assumption that the Z77 doesn't support SLI is not correct. From the specs on the product page, " full PCI-E 3.0 and 4-Way SLI Support". I've been running a P67 from their first release and couldn't be happier. Hopefully the Asus will be all you want in a mobo.

I mean that there is no model Z77SLI without PLX chip. I know that FTW support SLI, but I do not like "dust-bag" FAN. This topic has been discussed and it was said that it is necessary because PLX is hot. But maximus v extreme have PLX too. There is no FAN. Besides, I have never used SLI. I do not know any game where I had not had enough of my EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Hydro Copper on HP2740. I think that SLI and over needs only for numbers in benchmarks. One GPU is better for me.

don't know what's EVGA doing, but it costs buyers.

Newegg should have the Maximus V Formula this week or next as i'm waiting for it as well. I love EVGA but they make turds for motherboards ever since Shamino left for Asus

I totally agree with you. It is a pity that Shamino left. I live in Kyrgyzstan and can't buy on newegg because he don't receive payment from international card or paypal account. I'll be waiting when they appear on Ebay, amazon or buy.com

There is a EVGA Z75 SLI board on the way..

But this .. and the bios for P67/Z68 incl. Ivy Support tooks too long..
don't know what's EVGA doing, but it costs buyers.

I hated to do it but got a asrock p67 extreme4 gen 3 board instead of a second evga z68 sli . Only reason BIOS ivy is out for it and it has a usb3.0 header on MB. Its the first non evga board in over 5 years.I do not have the money for top of the line boards. This is the first time I got top of the line cpu mostly its all in the mid mid range.
Now the funny part The sticky at top for last BIOS is gone.I figured there was new sticky for z68 bios on its way as I put the p67 together.
