Yeah, I had that at the top of my post, might have been in a hard to see area, so I brought it down a little bit.

Wonder if it fixes the 59/60hz flipping that happens on reboot with the last 2-3 driver revisions.

Unexpectedly, these are -again- from the euorpean division driver team and not from the west coast A team....

Reading over the official release notes on this Beta driver, is most troubling.

It appears that Nvidia has made a decision and seperated the driver development teams, with the B team (euro) taking responsiblity for 500 series and below, while the A Team (west coast) is responsible for The Kepler release drivers.

I can only say that I belive this is a terrible mistake, one that is quite likely to damage Nvidia very seriously. The driver quality that has made Nvidia the premiere choice is just no longer there and is now looking alot like AMD driver development....

I will test and report back later tonight

I was hoping for new WHQLs but hopefully these offer some sort of improvement.

This is troubling. I had no idea that they had two driver teams. You would think they'd want to keep current customers happy, but I guess once new cards come out, they simply forget about people using last generation cards.

Also you are so right, the drivers are the major reason to go with Nvidia over AMD. I hope this isn't the beginning of the end for Nvidia having great drivers for everyone.

WHQL certification takes time, just because it is not WHQL now does not mean that it may not be at a later date.

Fair enough, but I always get graphics driver not approved on my benchies from 3dmark with beta drivers, which isnt fun considering the better scores beta drivers yield but being unable to post a score on the leaderboards for months.

Nvidia needs to get their stuff together, amd is really stepping up their game with their drivers and first to bring their gpu's to the market, i really hope nvidia gets it under control because it don't look good at the moment!

Well they do seem to work and after an hour of playing witcher2 they're stable.  And I do seem to have picked up around 3-4fps in shogun2 in dx11 1020p bench mode.  But they also seem to run warmish compared to the 290.53's.

Work great with me on Bf3 and skyrim, nothing notable in 3dmark scores...the difference is up and down. "i said works great" sorry...i should say exactly the same as the last ones. I did however let BF3 load with the 'launch game when ready' option and i didnt get the typical "flickering" distance objects like i used to....fluke? i donno? I previously had to click on the BF3 icon on task bar before it loaded to avoid the flicker issue. I tried 4 times and it didnt flicker. Hurmph?

The red team has tried as of the last 2 months on drivers i agree ,but getting a new GPU on the market first means little if it is not all that great .If rumor holds true that Nvidia's mid range card to be released soon beats AMD's newest high end card all it means is one company wants your money more and will throw anything out to get it first, that doesn't win customers long term when they feel ripped off later after the purchase FWIW the beta for me seems stable enough no issues slight maybe nothing improvement to BF3 and all my games seem just a bit more fluid .

The "official" release notes state a "fix" for the issue (after months of work)

But of course, since its a HTML5/OS/Flash issue releated to use...
Its highly doubtful users who wont change their use behavior, will see a real fix from this.....
We will have to see what such users report.

If they really did fix it, then maybe it was worth all the waiting. If its not fixed, then all Nvidia has done driver wise for 4 months is ignore quality and known issues with their drivers, and just add in a few 3D and SLI profiles.... which would be disgusting, lazy and damn greedy by Nvidia.

Lets see what the users who suffer from driver failures have to report

Well I am happy to report that this driver at least installed correctly and I am able to enable SLI on my x58 e760
*(unlike the previous two versions which would not allow SLI to be enabled in the control panel)

Quick testing of browser, web content, Flash/HTML all "appears" to be working fine...

Still to test: Games, Graphics Apps and legacy content playback

Noted: 2-3c temp increase (confirmed over 285.79) and a possible bit of startup latency (not confirmed)
*Core GPU clock behavior while browsing quite suprising

Will post back (probably after midnite tonight) with more detailed testing results in Games and Benchmarks

    Violence.

anyone run these drivers vs ones they have benchmarked with before? i know the last 2 drivers i got worse performance on benchmarks vs the older drivers.

testing now bud ill post some 3dmark11 tests by 5pm EST.

after running 3dmark11 3 times on each they averaged out about the same on my system(specs in sig). the new drivers gained maybe 5-10points if that.

I am seeing a very slight increase in Futuremark scores.  No problems so far.

Using these drivers...Precision will not apply overclocks to my 580SC.  When I set the clocks and memory...hit apply and everything goes to 0.  Not good for me
Back to 290.53 and overclocks stay put.  Oh well...maybe the next set.  290.53 have been some of the best I have used to date
