http://www.techpowerup.co...-Z-0.5.8-Released.html

download the new gpu-z 0.5.8
run it
right click on the title bar and click ASIC quality
for multi-gpu users it will only tell u one card at a time, switch the cards at the bottom and it will tell u the score for that gpu
here's my ASIC quality:
GPU 1: GTX580 SC EVGA 84.9%
GPU 2: GTX580 SC EVGA 77.7%
both stock voltage of 1.088, stock SC clocks
I don't like this discrepancy
both bought at the sametime from evga (dunno if that matters), approx 3-4 months after the 580's released

"We've found the ways in which AMD and NVIDIA segregate their freshly-made GPU ASICs based on the electrical leakages the chips produce (to increase yield by allotting them in different SKUs and performance bins), and we've found ways in which ASIC quality can be quantified and displayed. Find this feature in the context menu of GPU-Z. We're working on implementing this feature on older AMD Radeon GPUs."

so what's yours?
someone wanna compile a spreadsheet?

I'm confused about what this ASIC quality actually means, and how can it be over 100%?

Interesting because both of my cards are regular 570s. Though our cards are different cards, so it'd be more interesting to see if I have higher numbers than say, someone with a "better" 570 model.

Yeah I dont really understand this rating either. My card with the lower rating runs cooler than the one with the higher rating although I have no idea how well they can overclock.

Also on GPU-Z.0.58 it says my second 580 is running on PCI 1.1 and not PCI 2.0

idle it will downclock to save power
run it again during load, such as the new built in stress render test (click the ?)
it makes me a feel lil better inside that your ASIC quality is almost the same as mine

That would explain why it changed from 2.0 to 1.1 after a few seconds and that was what I originally though. However, I only brought the interface into question as it remained at 1.1 when I did the new render test. Although it seems necessary to run the test per GPU rather than the system as a whole as one of my GPU's remained at 0% usage whilst the other was at 99%. It only throttles GPU 1 regardless of the card selected. I just read the description of the Bus Interface render test and that provided the reasoning for my little dilemma.

We've found the ways in which AMD and NVIDIA segregate their freshly-made GPU ASICs based on the electrical leakages the chips produce (to increase yield by allotting them in different SKUs and performance bins), and we've found ways in which ASIC quality can be quantified and displayed. So does this mean that GPU-Z is testing our cards for electrical leakage? "...we've found ways in which ASIC quality can be quantified and displayed." oh yeah...how so. If the information being displayed (tested?) is accurate then it looks as if Nvidia is doing a poor job of binning their cards...or the numbers are suspect.

I just checked out my former 460 EE FTW's SLI set
    50.x% and 75.x%
I knew these were garbage on day 1
they ran loud and ridiculously hot

85.7% on my GTX 570 HD in my Main system

66.6% on my GTX 570 in my second system
68.9% on my GTX 460 in my second system

Yeah I dont really understand this rating either. My card with the lower rating runs cooler than the one with the higher rating although I have no idea how well they can overclock.

its just the opposite for me, my second system cards with lower score run hotter then my main system card with higher score

it might depend on the age of the card to cause I had my GTX 570 HD about 2 months, and my second system cards about 8 or 9 months. I also have different Nvidia drivers on both systems so not sure if that makes a difference or not.
