This BIOS is ONLY for the EVGA X58 SLI Motherboard (part number 132-BL-E758-)

SZ2X Updates:

  • Now set the CD Drive as the primary boot device, or press escape while the system is booting to select CD as the bootable device.
  • After flash remove the CD, and power off PC Completely.
  • Turn on the PC and load defaults in BIOS

USB FLOPPY Installation - Recommended installation method
  • Download the following executable: E758_SZ2X.exe
  • Insert blank floppy disk into drive and run executable
  • After the floppy has written fully, restart the machine, go into the BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
  • Now set the USB Floppy as the primary boot device, or press escape while the system is booting to select USB Floppy as the bootable device
  • After flash remove the floppy, power off PC Completely
  • Turn on the PC and load defaults in BIOS

Should never load a profile from a previous bios, even if it works it may be unstable.

Just note the settings and recreate them.

It kind of stinks as it limits the usefulness of saving a profile, but unfortunately it what we have to do.

Thanks for the reply. I never had an issue using the profile before this time. But it's all good i just put settings in manually and all is well again.

When are we going to be delighted with a Changelog saying "S3 issues finally fixed...:)"... EVGA, please delight us! We paid you $300 for this board! Gave you a good name for good customer service all over the net!

Let me know if you have forgotten what S3 issues we are facing. They are documented in the archive, under every BIOS released since the beginning of time. But lastly, they were all documented in SZ2P thread.

    EVGA X58 SLI Rev 1.1
    i7 920 D0 LinX/Prime Stable 4.4(21x210) HT ON
    1.3125vcore, +100mV, vDIMM 1.625v, Rest Auto
    OCZ Gold 6GB 1680 (2:8) 9 9 9 24 1T
    Prolimatech Megahalems (Push/Pull)
    Because of S3 issues: 21x196, Auto vcore, 2:8, 8-8-8-24-1T 12GB.

    Very disappointed!!!

With the last two or three bios updates...my REV 1.0 board does a double power down on bootup...one short one second power down and then on for two and down for another two seconds or so.  Back to SZ27 for me...not sure when this exactly happened...but for me the last three updates...can't seem to graduate from SZ27...

Double boot at stock speeds...overclocked speeds...

So Jacob...what you are saying is that the double power down is normal?  If so...I will reflash...

Does it say 1.0 or 1.1 on your board?
I have rev 1.1 board. So, my S3 issues are not even related to rev 1.0, where S3 was completely screwed up.

    EVGA X58 SLI Rev 1.1
    i7 920 D0 LinX/Prime Stable 4.4(21x210) HT ON
    1.3125vcore, +100mV, vDIMM 1.625v, Rest Auto
    OCZ Gold 6GB 1680 (2:8) 9 9 9 24 1T
    Prolimatech Megahalems (Push/Pull)
    Because of S3 issues: 21x196, Auto vcore, 2:8, 8-8-8-24-1T 12GB.

How about, when are we going to get a changelog that says "Hauppauge tv tuners finally work with this motherboard"

    Hmmm,

My HVR 1250 seems to be working fine.  What problems are you having?

    Z.

The same problem almost every other owner is having with the 1800/1850.. It just isn't detected. Which means drivers don't install and the card doesn't work.

I have a problem with my tv tuner also but in my Classified motherboard. My tv tuner is avermedia and it locks up my pc when Windows starts, card works fine with my 780i. I just sent Jacob my tv tuner card for testing with my Classified, I have been talking and calling EVGA about it since Classified was released!

Email Jacob and keep bugging him about it and send him your tv tuner card for testing because there seems to be something wrong with these motherboards. If he doesn't asnwer you call EVGA and ask to talk to the highest ranking person. I got help once I started getting upset and asking to talk to someone higher than the normal customer service rep after many many months of not really been helped. I have been following up with Jacob about my tv tuner problem and he seems like he is going to help me out with mine so email him and maybe send him your card for testing. Good luck. I'll post my status about it in the forums once they finish debuging it, my card should arrive at Jacob's office tomorrow.
