Hey guys,

I am having troubles with this newly built system.  I have a raid 0 setup with 2 SSD and when I am installing windows 7, its not detecting the drives or 1 drive. I tried installing the drivers from EVGA but they dont seem to help bring up the hard drives. The motherboard detects the drives, but Windows 7 isnt doing so hot. Please help me find the right drivers that I need to get them detected or the right settings. Thanks!
PS: Windows does detect them if I break the Raid into 2 separate drives.

Build
EVGA x79 sli
2  SSD Patriots 120gb
Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit

I wonder if the Intel storage manager is automatically setting up ssd caching and presenting only one drive to Windows?

You have to add drivers at the point where the empty box comes up in the W7 install, where your array would normally be for the install.

I understand I have to add drivers, but I was having problems finding the correct ones to detect the array raid 0 I had setup.  This link you posted, I use the top one right? Also, do I have to use windows install disc without a service pack? I do appreciate the response, thanks!

Yup, the top one for it to see your array. the other after install. I don't think it matters about sp1. My W7 copy has sp1 on it.

Hey there... I had the same headache... Here is what I did to get it to work. When you begin the Windows 7 setup, make sure you have the original raid drivers on a flash drive... Instead of beginning install, you have to go the route of "loading drivers" first... I was able to use the original drivers from the EVGA disc and once that got done, Windows 7 recognized the RAID and was able to install... Since then, I have to say this has been one of the most stable setups I have ever built... hope this helps, good luck!

on all my builds I just install everything first without the raid drives and when everything tests out and the raid drivers have been installed, I slid the  raid drives in while shut down after reboot I check to see if I need to add them as raid then boot to the desk top.
once in windows if I don't see the drives I open disk management and add them in, ezy pzy. all my data is still there and I don't have to move it back to the raid drive from the backup drives I made before hand
