Hi everyboby! I'm an italian guy and i am a enthusiast owner of this mdb...unfortunately this morning turning on my pc, i ve got noting at all, only black screens...i ve tried several Time to' power on my sistem, but nothing at all! So i ve just tried the tipically things that eversione does in this case, i ve tried each of my RAM dimms into the first slot of both processors to' see if the problem comes from them but nothing (Kingston hyperX t1 2000mhz c9, work flawlessly into my other pc), i ve tried the vga (MSI hawk talon attack gtx 460) in each of 7 pci express slots (and into my other pc too), but nothing still appear...so as i read on the manual, i ve tried to' use only one cpu, and both of them works but only into the primary cpu socket..!!! In i try to' connect both into both sockets i ve got black screen! So the problem come from the secondary cpu socket (and dimms too as i ve seen)...i do not know what happens, but i ve already rma my mdb on june and now i need to rma again..!

So my question is, what i have to do to' rma my mdb again??? If i enter into rma section from evga site, i can only see my last rma, to' start another rma the site asks to' me another serial...where i can fin it?? It s on the mdb (on the white ticket), and i have to upload the invoce again or the order one still goes fine???

Please help me, i am a grapher and i can waste anytime :( last time i had a really good esperience with your rma service, i hope that i can have it again!!

Sorry to hear your having an issue with the board. When testing the secondary CPU socket do you have both 8 pin power connectors for both CPU's installed? If not the system will not post and you will get no post code. Are you getting a post code? And if so can you let me know what they are?

OO or 00, b2 ff AA...all is connected (also the 6pin plus the 8pin for cpu), as i said i used it perfectly utill today :(

Does there appear to be any bent pins in the CPU socket? What codes do you get when you run it with just the secondary CPU, 24 pin and 8 pin connectors? Please also ensure you are not over tightening the CPU heatsink when testing.

continue with tries...i realize that are the ram dimms the prolem of black screens, because this morning the pc boot and i m currently working with it, but it seems that 1 and 3 slot dimm are broken, because there are no way to have them functioning!
 
please can you open another rma for me??? i will start the procedure later if that will not be possible from you!

Y re right, but the problem is that i want to' spend less time possibile to' do this! What do you think of the errors that the site reports??? What s the correct way to' submit second rma?? Can you show me?? On the rma page is written that i do not have to upload another invoice, but i have to registe the new product right???

Yes, it must be registered.  Is there a reason it won't let you register... An error message or something?  Sometimes they are auto-registered by EVGA when the RMA is complete.  If you are unable to register it yourself, you next best solution may be to call your local EVGA tech support and see if they can solve that issue for you as well as setup the RMA for you.

I ve purchased the mdb online from sab**.*c, it s not a loca l dealer! The error that the site reports is "the serial number is not related to the part number"..! But i ve tried severa times to' digit it, without any result!! If you want this afternoon i can send to' you via pm the pitture of the sticker that is on the box!

FIRST : MY MDB AS I ALSO WRITTEN INTO THIS THREAD WORKS PERFECTLY, ONLY RAM SLOT 1-2-3-4 DOES NOT WORK...BUT INTO THE MAIL IS WRITTEN IS REPORTED THAT IS THERE BEND CPU PIN ON ONE OF THE SOCKET (WHY THEY NOT REPORT WICH OF THE CPU GOT BEND PIS I DO NOT KNOW...)

SECOND : DON'T YOU ASSUME WHEN YOU TAKE AN RMA THAT SCREWS OR METAL SUPPORT OF VGA CAN SCRATH THE MDB??? COME ON, I WANT TO SEE YOUR MDB PHOTOS!!!!!! THAT'S PATHETIC AT ALL!!!

Sorry to hear your board was damaged when received. Bent CPU pins would explain the memory not working properly as the memory controller is on the CPU itself. In terms of the scratches to the PCB they appear to be deep enough to actually expose the traces, not just around the stand offs but on the edge of the board as well. Unfortunately there is no way to repair this, the board would need to be replaced. If you would like to pay for a new board they can send one out to you, or if you would like this board back they can ship it back to you as is.

that is physically damage for you??? i don't bend any cpu pins!! can you sign on the photo that i ve posted the pins that seems bend, please???

the story of cpu bend pins sounds like "something strange"...the last rma that i ve done, also for evga sr2, was on a mdb that reported fired capacitor near cpu, and in that occasion everything goes fine!!!!
 
10 years of warranty??? for what??? it's your word against mine, and i can't do anything about...
 
why into his post he does not report wich of the two cpu has "bend pins"??!??! i'll tell you why, because maybe was not the primary cpu, was not the one where i ve got problems...
