Hey, my question is: I pre-ordered 3 games on GameStop about 2 months ago, but now I got them on Steam. So I went on Gamestop, and cancelled my orders. Question is, do they charge $5 for the pre-order, even though I cancelled? Because in stores they do, but online they don't say anything about it. And I card hasn't been charged since they don't charge until the game ships.

    you shouldnt use gamestop, period.
Not with their policies and the way they treat games and gamers and their family members.

Go to bestbuy or someplace esle instead.
I wont even walk into a GS anymore. BestBuy has a bigger selection anyways.

I don't see why ppl still buy games at all
Renting them is so much easier especially when you can buy it too if you like it enough

It's the only choice, here in my country, you can't rent games (at all, doesn't matter if it is for the PC or console)

you either buy them or play them like a pirate

And buying games over steam and services like that is way cheaper than to buy it in a local store, cause the games there are so much too overpriced that thats insane

Just as an example - new COD's cost 59.99€ (thats some $80, and in the local stores here its about $100)

so its way cheaper (at least for me) to buy them on steam, direct2drive (http://www.direct2drive.co.uk)

Can you be more specific? I want to pre-order BF3 from Gamestop soon, and I want to know what the downfalls will be exactly. Thanks!

i would much rather shop gamestop VS bestbuy any day.. only thing i get at BB is movies.

and No Gamestop does not charge 5 bucks.. to pre order any where online or off.

the 5 bucks in store goes to the payment of your game..  if you cancel you get the 5 bucks back.

Online you will see a 1 doller temp charge on your acount.. cause they need to verify you are real.. that will then be removed quickly... you won't get charged for the game till it ships. then you will get billed.
If you cancle before then you get no charge at all.
If it is shipped and you want to return it. just take packing slip and game to your local gamestop and you'll get your money back.

Signature Images.. What are those.. and can I eat it?
