When you flash the BIOS or clear CMOS, all BIOS settings will return to the original factory default settings which should
work ok, but not always..I'm just guessing, but when you updated the BIOS, the new version maybe
has some kinda compatibility issue with your hardware (mainly RAM), where as the old version did not..Setting the RAM speed/timing/voltage manually (not set on Auto) to specs is especially critical as well as the date/time..There are other settings to look at that you may need/want to change also, such as First Boot Device, Drive A, Init Display First (Onboard/PCI/PCIEx), SmartFan, CPU Feature and more. Take a look at all the BIOS settings and set them as needed/wanted and see how it works and go from there.
