This is my first joint venture with another forum member (Gratuitous) to make a new block top for the Danger Den MC-TDX CPU waterblock

Here are the results:

Here is an added bonus, small clip of my CNC in action:

More pictures will follow as the installation progresses.  This is not a full waterblock, or even a finish product yet.  This is just replacing the plexi top of the DD block to something a bit classier.

Why do this you may ask?  Because now a chipset block can be matched perfectly with a CPU block.  Plus that whole "copper transfers heat better" thing probably isn't a bad outcome either .

OK Nate, next up is rads.  Several of us here wouldn't mind sportin' a ALL NATEMAN_DOO water loop in their systems.  Your stuff has all been top notch from what I have seen so far.  Need some coolguy NMD case badges :)

The ACB was going to be next, but I was asked to work on this, so I couldn't resist.  Its sitting on my desk now like a trophy.  The best part is, its not even finished and it looks that good.  I am almost crushed to part with it.  I am making these in pairs for some SR-2 owners (who also got my chipset blocks)  Imagine ALL that copper on ONE board.

I am thinking video cards are next.  Send me one of those Classy 580's and I will make a waterblock for it ;)

heh... thanks!   I would rather higher some kid and teach him the ways of the force that have to buy all new shirts to accomidate the new arms.

I don't think I would make a 759 block because so many of them are already on the market.  It takes lots of time to design it and code it.

The plan is to finish this new Milling Machine I am working on, so I can have the accuracy that I am looking for to make that ACB block.

here is the concept art in case you missed it in my other thread.

but it sure looks better as the real thing!

I completely understand as far as making a 759 block. I do hope though that when we get our next gen motherboards your machine is ready to start turning out some blocks close after the release date. You might even be able to get some assistance from EVGA in the measurements once they hit the market as far as the measurements go. I think that if you could get in fast enough at the release of the board you wouldn't have a problem selling enough blocks to make the trouble of designing it worth it. Just remember, we will ALL BE WAITING......

Nope,  Last time I asked EVGA for the holes for the micro board.  They were not having it (someone in particular).

I am 100% solo and have to buy any component I work on myself (unless someone sends me it to work on).  One of the mods here sent me his micro and I was able to make it for them-before they were a mod.

yes, they lined up perfectly, and the 4-40 works perfectly also.  And even better, the factory screws are that much larger that if you want to put the block back to normal, you absolutely can.

    Started second block:

I made some improvements to holding it down, and also to help prolong bit life.  Basically I etched the block shape, then took it over to the bandsaw and ate away most of the excess material.  Less clamps to hold the scrap, and less copper being milled away.

Whats strange is someone viewed this even before I posted it.  Ninja's I tell you! :P
