I searched around some for ya, and see some others are posting this issue with certain GAMES with their 4xx and 5xx cards.

only think I have seen so far that works for some is going into bios and changing your PCI-E from auto to 100. some reported that it works better and longer, but others are claiming its a placebo. hehe

so I dont have a good answer really, just something to try. wont hurt anything.

ill mess around with it to see if I can reproduce it do you know if your card downclocks before this happens? Could also be something is not configured right on your SR2, Overclocking can cause issues with heavy 3d modeling, be it cpu, ram or gpus. So can a water leak... personally if i where you I would go 100% air cooling maybe h70s or something like that no maintence easy to remove put on etc or coolit omni if they made 580 plates. Makes it alot easier to troubleshoot.
