Hey, I'm running the list in my sig, no changes. So I'm gaming and whatnot, and all of a sudden, when I alt tab or load up a video on the net (basically switching between a 2D and 3D application) my primary GTX295 red lights, video cuts out and I'm forced to reboot. If I try a soft reset, I can't make it into Windows without the same problem happening. I'm running W7 Pro and Forceware 197.45 If I do a hard shutdown and restart, the system's fine for a length of time until it happens again, usually when I'm alt tabbing out of a game. I have a hunch it's my AX1200, because when I disable the second GTX295 by disabling the PCIe slot it's plugged into, the primary card runs like a champ for hours. No hiccups. I've even tried the secondary card alone by disabling the primary, same deal. Smooth. However when I enable both cards I run into the red light on the primary card and the video cuts. The red light usually means a power issue, but I'm not entirely sure. I've swapped out the cables, the AX1200 is maybe 3 months old? I'm convinced it's the PSU but I'd like a second opinion. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it's the PSU. Try different cables for 295 #1. I have a cable on my PSU that I can't use because my card redlights if I use it.

Have you checked your 12v rail? I'd assume your temps are great, but have you been watching them? Have you tried reducing your CPU to stock or a lower OC?

Tried different power cables. OC (CPU) with 2 cards is a no go. OC with either card is flawless. 12V Rail holds steady according to everest, temps on everything are excellent. 3.3V rail shows 2.93 @ idle but without a multimeter it's nothing really legit IMO.

Huh... Strange. It definitely sounds like a PSU issue but I would reset the BIOS, sweep drivers, reinstall drivers, and test from there.

I've used 2 BIOS', 5 sets of drivers and reinstallation of some of my games. No luck... Before I contact corsair I'm going to try powering the GPU's off a spare HX1000. Thank guys, it's always great to have a second look. Has anyone ever tried calling corsair? Their tech support form is the same form you use to start an RMA, really weird.

Ok, now I'm stumped. I just tried running the GPU's off my spare HX1000 and I get the same problem. I'm typing this off my primary card, I've disable the second 295. I haven't taken my cards apart since I installed the waterblocks on them, and I highly doubt something like the internal SLI ribbon cable has become loose. What else could the red light mean? It only comes on the primary card, when I run it or the secondary card alone they both work like champs. When I try them together I can't even boot. Confused!

Everywhere I have read about that red light they say it means either the card is not getting enough power or the card is overheating. If you have tried another PSU (That is certified and is known to be able to power Quad SLI GTX 295's) and it's also giving you the same problem. I would be looking towards a RMA on that video card. Have you tried running each card by it self and try a few stress test on each?

Really sounds like the card. Just wanted to say... Since he has the GTX 295+ model with more memory I went and checked out benchmarks. Seems that if they were to give him a card of equal or greater value a GTX 480 would be close, but he would actually lose a bit of performance on games @ 2560x1600 resolution. So i'd say a SSC or Hydro version would be right in the same performance range.

IMO, we paid for $530 cards. We should get $530 cards back. In other words. A 580 is fair. They say it's of equal or greater value, not performance. Again, just my opinion.

Thanks for all the support guys, really appreciate it! To clear up your statement, Rain, the GTX295+'s don't get more memory, just higher stock clocks. 576/1242/999 for the standard GTX295, 596/1296/1026 for the Plus editions. I'm also using the SLI bridge I've been using since the start, so I'll see whether or not it holds up. Thanks for the generous offer Halo, if I need one I'm glad to know there's someone to help me. As far as an RMA is concerned these GTX295+'s are pretty near and dear to me, if I got a 480 back it wouldn't match my other GTX295+, and then I'd have to go through the hassle of aquiring new blocks. I'll keep working on it, thanks again! EDIT: Turns out the triple SLI bridge is what held me back from enabling quad SLI. I'm using the normal bridge right now and hoping it works.
