Hi everyone :) It's been a while since I did a serious upgrade, but I finally upgraded my main workstation with some serious Kepler GPGPU's, from EVGA of course! The pics I am about to show will tell you my story hehe, the system I am showing used to have the EVGA GeForce GTX 295 Red Editions in it, so this upgrade gave me a phenomenal improvement as overall performance goes, just crazy actually. From Four G200-400-B3 GPGPU's to two GK104-400-A2 GPGPU's or from 960 G200 CUDA Cores to 3072 Kepler CUDA Cores, rofl yeah numbers differ but so does performance, only the performance per CUDA core is much more powerful with the G200's I must add that though, Kepler is more optimized for games that G200 and Fermi ever were, but all in all this upgrade feels very good already rofl! So here the first pic of the system it's self: A Side shot of the system with the two EVGA GeForce GTX 680 SuperClocked Signature Edition 2GB's in it, in 2-Way SLI from the underneath angle Here a closeup of the side panel: Here a shot of the side window and side fan removed; as you can see I used the same brandless hard B SLI bridge, it also makes a neat finish this way: See how the blue and white light penetrate them Aluminium side strips on them cards, just wonderful Here some pics of the cards shall we! Spino also joined in the photo shoot top view: rear view: Headshot: Here the cards showing their DSP's HDMI's & DVI's: here I placed them in a stacked mode Here I made some shots with the hard PCB brandless SLI Bridge connected to the cards: here a nice angled shot: and from the rear: I also made a little intro video of the first test run, but I have to upload that video first xD Once uploaded, I will edit this post and add it here

willem445 love it! Except what happened to your expected quad sli?? I was expecting 4 680s lol! I had Quad SLI and it has more issues than 2-Way, but I did not let them go xDDDD Take a look here mate!!! http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=1750787 Afterburner Gold Leader Many thanks HeThing! Also many thanks to the EVGA Crew member that gave me my 23rd Blue Ribbon! That was me... Even made a post about it but it did not send properly I said... Looks great! Now go get another 100 +1's (Or something like that)... Many thanks mate, as your post goes no worries it's probably not the only problem here, I had to re-upload my new MR pics for the second time, even that I removed the old ones the first time, anyways it seems to be working now But hey websites have bugs nothing bad there, many thanks for this BR as for them 100 +1's good point, they will come one day I guess, but I have my patience my friend

Many thanks RushXTC These cards are miracles, even after using them for like 5 hours flat they just remain very quiet! EVGA & NVIDIA did a great job on these beauties as their coolers go, it was aslo wise of EVGA to give these Signature Editions a Vapor Chamber Heatsink instead of the tradition heatpiped one Them vapor chambers seem to be doing a good job indeed

Many thanks everyone!, Yeah they even run Descent hahaha , they do everything! Metro 2033 is far more enoyable now too, I am waiting on Metro Last Light, Far Cry3 & Crysis 3, just would be interested how these GK104-400-A2's would do in such titles, but hay we'll see and I'd be willing to find out, once they come along. I just hope more games will get CUDA support like Just Cause2 did, I kinda liked that, still play that one a lot. Whach I thought only the FTW's had Vapor Chambers and that the Signatures had the reference heat pipes? Anyway, nice rig! Yeah my bad, you are right there But still they remain cool and quiet under any type of workload, marvelous things!

When a boatload of money will rain down on me Noes, no 4 CPU from me, It's not useful for me either, you'd need Windows server 2008 or something similar to run it and I do games as well, Win 2K8 and games I don't think that will ever work. Win7 Pro x64 + SP1 is fine for my needs and it supports 2CPU setups, ideal thus in my case. I dunno what's next, most likely a Dual 12 or 16 Core Opteron setup I guess, but now I don't need any more upgrades in a long time.

HeThing Question is.. "will it play crysis?" Peanuts even Crysis 2 will fly on them haha , just never felt like playing them, might do them like 3 weeks before Crysis 3 comes out, to refresh my mind of the storyline FarCry3 will also be very interesting same for Dragon Age III, which is still in development Kepler is very interesting, I like it's new techs, that Adaptive V-Sync hasn't done me much yet, I guess not many games support it yet the same for TXAA, or am I missing out on something here?

Well I can tell ya that one of these little monsters can beat my Quad SLI setup in JC2 but in older games one 680 doesn't match a 295 RE, I talk about games like Descent with DXX-Rebirth and UT 2004 heh, it's really made for heavy shader based games beyond DX10.1 and up, then it really is being fully used. But yeah still I am impressed what these Keplers are capable of, it's just something different, I never expected, as performance goes in my older games

I didn't know about the issues with older games using the 6xx-cards. Occationally I play older games as well, but I haven't noticed anything yet.. I can't tell if my old 2x GTX295s were running with +1 FPS though. If they did, I do not really care.. this 680 uses much much less power :D

Well as serious games go online Descent is the only one I really do, but as new-gen games I enjoy their single player missions very much and the mods that are attached to them, this is where these things shine. But with Descent + DXX-Rebirth 0.57.3 the Quad SLI setup never dropped below the 197-200 fps the dual 680 setup does not get past them 120fps , very strange I find. when I disable SLI on the GTX 295 RE setup and I run in single chip mode the FPS does not change but with the Keplers it goes up to 180 fps but that is really it. as FPS goes both are okay but I had a smoother game run time with the Quad SLI GTX 295 RE setup, it seems that the G200 is just better for old games like my beloved Descent, but when we look at Just Cause 2, then it's an entirely different situation here the GTX 680 SC SE 2GB's annihilate my GTX 295 RE's, even a single GTX 680 SC SE crushes both GTX 295 RE's rofl! Anyways the G200 is better for that good old thing the Gk104's is better for that very new thing, as for the Fermi chips they also were better at that old thing but the G200's really prevail there. No matter, I plan on seeing how these Keplers will evolve, they seem to have lots of potential for new titles, as that DX11.1 part goes, will we see that in Windows 7 Pro x64 also? I hope with SP2 if a SP2 is going to happen heh!. As for OpenGL 4.3 it would be nice to see more games take use of this. As for Windows 8 pro x64, not kinda fond of that, I don't want a tablet OS, I want a professional workstation OS with a normal gui and start menu. Anyways I am keeping my GTX 295 RE's, just in case I feel like using them again, but mainly they are true collectors items to me, also being the most beautiful GeForce Cards I ever seen and the best ones I ever used.
