I forgot to check my bios this morning before I left for work. Does the bios on the FTW3 board support booting from pci-e?

Yes, use BIOS version 77 or later for best resutls, and if you do buy one I recommend you get on the OCZ forums, lots of good info there...

My bios has a feature to boot from "Bootable add-in cards" I guess that is what you are looking for.

There are no specifically labeled features for it, it will show up in the same part of the BIOS as any other bootable add on card would.

    Yup...

    EDIT:

Forgot my standard advice to people looking to buy a Revo...

Do not get the original version of the Revo, stick with the RevoX2.
It is recommended to install a Revo in the correct speed slot (4x or higher) that is furthest from the CPU.
Changing these BIOS settings below may help:

    PnP/PCI configurations menu
Reserved for RC Bridge = enabled
    Maximum Payload Size = 4096

And  if/when overclocking, it is recommended to leave the PCIe frequency as is (100) when using the Revo, but I think that goes for any SSD...

No trim support according to review on Newegg...

Expensive too.. why not RAID a couple of cheaper SATA SSD's?

Out of SATA II ports and I don't think even 2 vertex 2 would match this in speed. Now for my rookie question does trim really matter when I was under the impression windows doesn't delete files. It simply just marks them as being able to be over written. Or maybe I don't know what I am talking about.

Here is a great article that teaches you about TRIM and shows that it is fairly important for extending the speed and use of your SSD, regardless of whether it is a PCI or SATA one.

    http://www.anandtech.com/show/3618/intel-x25v-in-raid0-faster-than-x25m-g2-for-250/6

The article states that "30% of most desktop writes are random to an extent. Over time, these random writes will build up and bring down the overall performance of your RAID array until you either secure erase the drives or write sequentially to all available free space."

The article shows that "using a smaller partition is a great way to ensure high performance for as long as possible. The effectiveness of this approach is a difficult thing to benchmark given that it's only after months of normal use that you get enough random writes to the drive to be a problem."

So long story short, if you partition a section of this drive to act as your "boot drive", then you should be fine in the long run since it will be running sequential data instead of bursts that cannot be trimmed and end up cluttering the drive.  Hope that helps.

the above article was put out in March, 2010, might have applied to earlier versions of ssd's but not really applicable to newer ones, trim is not needed as long as the drive has competent GC in the FW,

Yeah I saw that yesterday on engadgets home page. Looks real promising. i currently have a Vertex2 and I do like it a lot. I decided I would wait a month or two and see what OCZ releases. According to their webpage they now dow 3.5in ssd now too so no more need for trays!
