Hey there, i formated my hdd and installed windows. 1 problem: using the evga e-leet i'm seeing that my cpu multiplier is unstable. It's going from x22 down to x12 then up to x16 or x22. What is going on?

Case: Coolermaster HAF-X
PSU: Coolermaster GX-750 (750 watts)
CPU: Intel i7 930
Cooler: Coolermaster V6GT
Mobo: EVGA X58 SLI 3
GPU: EVGA GTX-460 768mb
RAM: 6Gb Corsair Dominator 8-8-8-24 1600Mhz 1.65v (currently running 1.5v 1000Mhz)

You need to DISABLE the Intel Speedstep Technology (and C1E, if available) in your BIOS.

It's not an unstable multiplier. The CPU is designed to operate this way it's a power saving feature of the chip. In mundane tasks like desktop use you really don't need the CPU's full power so it lowers it's speed. This results in lower temps and lower power draw. But as soon an you start a game for instance, the CPU instantly throttles up to it's full speed or any time that you need more performance.

disabling Intel Speed Step and CxE function will enable it so that you don't get the power saving option of a reduced multiplier and just stay at the constant 22x. If overclocking it makes life a lot easier to run those options off to be more stable.

I don't care about CPU power saving features. I disable all CPU power saving features in the BIOS because of certain issues I have with them when they are on.  Having C-states and EIST enabled lowers my fps in Flight Simulator X from 25.5 down to 23.5.
