Someone on EA UK posted how to fix the hit detection for the game and I gave it a try and it works perfect. Been using it for 2 hours now. Instructions: Add " SettingsManager.floatSet GSDefaultLatencyCompensation 0.0450000" and " SettingsManager.U32Set GSInterpolationTime 45 " to your gamesettings.ini and settings.ini file in the BFBC2 folder. In gamesettings.ini, add them between the lines; IntroPlayed=1 [GstPersistence] (You can find the Gamesettings.INI file and Settings.INI file under Documents > BBC2 > and they should be there. In settings.ini, just add it to the end of the list. Save both files. BEFORE YOU TRY THIS, change the value to your general server ping. For me, when I refresh the list, most servers are 31-45 ping. So, I change the values to .045 and 45 for 45 ping. Say most of your servers are 73 ping, you'll want to change the values at the end of the previously stated changes to .073 and 73 respectively. Video for comparison: Again full credit to whoever made this. This has been working great for me and I think you should give it a try if hit detection is a problem in the game. If you're having any problems not understanding just ask me and I'll try to help.

Afterburner OK.. Sweeeeet... Now how do we find out our true ping? I think the when you push TAB in game it shows their ping next to the score, I think that's the true ping. Or are you talking about the server browser ping for the hit detection?

This happens to me a large part of the time and I find myself searching for servers that don't seam to make me lag as much, but why don't they fix this so that everyone plays with the same advantage? Does every game have this latency compensation sort of thing? I remember with with BF2 and 2142 I couldn't join a server on the other side of the world, but with this game it's like a 50 ping difference.

The Settings.INI file can be found at Documents> BBC2> Settings.INI (for vista that is.) And you use the ping that is to the right of the server browser when looking at servers.

Like for instance the EVGA has 47 ping, So that's what you put in two lines. It would be SettingsManager.floatSet GSDefaultLatencyCompensation 0.0470000" and " SettingsManager.U32Set GSInterpolationTime 47 @Beans Yeah, that's the down side you have to change it every time you join a server with different ping.

What is being discussed in this thread is Cheating Sugarcoat however you wish, it does not change the facts. If I play against you in the server with my client files intact, YOU will have an unfair advantage with your modded files. That is cheating Of course, I will HAVE to Mod my files also... so that the playing field is level? We have seen where this leads to in "other" games... a total hackfest, where the guy with the most client mod wins and any player running stock (Honest, without mods) does not have a chance. I enjoy playing BFBC2, if this kind of crap is going to be allowed I wont be playing much longer. You want better hit detection.. EARN it with experiance You want better server polling, PAY FOR IT with a better connection Modding your client files will not make you a better player, it only pad your stats... By cheating

maniacvvv I'm sorry, I beg to differ with your harsh rhetoric and do wish you had taken a different approach to sharing your ideas. The fact is some have the issue and some don't the fix is what levels the playing field not the other way around. I think I can speak for the rest here when I say we all hope a patch is forth coming soon! If you watched the video you can clearly see shotgun blast fired dead on at close range I counted 6 rounds that didn't take down the opponent prior to the adjustment. It should be clear to you that something is wrong with that picture at that range the shotgun should have taken the man down in a heartbeat as it did with the adjustment. This has nothing to do with cheating and you owe all of us an apology for you unfair characterization of our intentions. You have Not even a hundred post and you pretend to know who we are shame on you pal.

Oh, and do not tell me to read the TOS You are a member of the official EVGA gaming squad, discussing modding client files in public. So what we have here in black and white is 100% proof that you and other EVGA squad members are cheating. You are adding a line of code to the game that -does not exist- on a normal game install, to provide you with an advantage Perhaps a EVGA Mod should discuss this with YOU Having official EVGA Squad members openly discussing cheating in their official fourms makes EVGA look very very bad What next, are you going to post up torrent links so you dont have to pay for your games? Like I said, the facts in this post speak for themselves. What is being shared here are cheating hack client mods.

this is not cheating....modding client files is no different than changing settings through the in-game menu...they just didn't give those options currently, but I'm sure they will be added. This has been done in games for years and if it was cheating then they would have hard coded those settings instead of provided it to every user in a clear ASCII file!

I have been playing video games since 1969 at Stanford You (and those like you) have no idea what playing "honestly" means. THIS: Instructions: Add " SettingsManager.floatSet GSDefaultLatencyCompensation 0.0450000" and " SettingsManager.U32Set GSInterpolationTime 45 " to your gamesettings.ini and settings.ini file in the BFBC2 folder. In gamesettings.ini, add them between the lines; IntroPlayed=1 [GstPersistence] (You can find the Gamesettings.INI file and Settings.INI file under Documents > BBC2 > and they should be there. In settings.ini, just add it to the end of the list. Save both files. Is adding in instructions to the config file to gain an advantage. Those instructions are NOT present in a stock install and ARE NOT settings that can be adjusted "in-game". They are Cheats and that is hacking. There can be no excuses, you and anyone who adds those lines is cheating. And what is to stop anyone from putting in numbers that are incorrect to gain an even greater advantage? You are a cheat and anyone who uses the above is a cheater

You agreed to it when you signed up. Even with your editing it is still not that good. If a Rep with EGC feels this is an unfair advantage, than by golly it is and it disappears... Simple as that. But like I said.. I tried, and was not successful with the change. You seem to want to fight, I do not. I am not and never have been a hacker. I cannot stand them. Bugs me pretty bad. While I can see your view, I still do not see how this is any different than changing settings in the game. It is a setting.... Not an aim tool or some looser hack. Have a good evening... And one day stop by. I am sure a lot of folks will be happy to test their skills to yours =]...
