stool/chair for standing desk?

Anyone using a standing desk? Looking at finally building that stand-up desk, and my PT suggested a stool that you lean on, just to take off abit of the pressure on the legs every so often. Given, I've been in a good habit of stepping away from the desk every 20-30mins.

    Standing desk...
     Its either a great idea and I'm just a grumpy old man or its stupid and my feelings are well placed.
     
    I hate programming while standing, makes it hard to think ( for me ). 
    (I'm also in my twenties and I'm open to new ideas.)

    The standing desk would have arm rest. And could always get a stool chair or build one.
