Jumped on the 980 SC early on and love it so far. I want to slap on a waterblock soon. Looking at the EK full cover plexi block but I'm not a fan of the in/out port positioning. I'd need to run a U-turn of tubing to route from my cpu to the GPU, unless any users of that waterblock have suggestions (that don't involve two loops). Plus an LED lit EVGA logo would be pretty sharp looking. Any ETA on new stock? As far as I've seen they've been gone for a while now. Unless they come back and get sold out faster than I can see. I've yet to have auto notify pay off. I used nowinstock to alert me to my 980.

Could you explain why you would need a u-turn of tubing? You should be able to use either an angle fitting or just go straight from the gpu out to the cpu in, without issue. I can't share pictures right now, but I am trying to visualize what would hinder you from going straight through like other users.

Certainly. Probably would have helped if I actually gave the model # of the EK block.  Im looking at the EK-FC980 GTX Waterblock for Nvidia 980 GTX - Nickel/Plexi (Original CSQ)

As shown, the inlet/outlet faces away from the CPU. So I'd need a u-turn out of tubing or two 90 degree fittings to come up and around the card. Unless there's a fitting that converts this into the style on the other EK blocks and the HC block. I've never used EK blocks like this so recommendations would be welcome. I know they make another plexi block that has what I want, but I think the edge to edge coverage looks cleaner. I have a caselabs case on the way that would mount the mobo upside down so I'd be looking at the face of this block rather than the backplate. So my block preferences are either this or the EVGA block as its a bit less boring than an acetal block. Plus I'm going to use Mayhems pastel white in the loop.

What the heck were the engineers thinking with that? I can understand one port being there and the other being extended out, but that is a rather weird design... I see exactly why that block is in Stock.... You couldn't even use it with SLI setups without doing some really weird things...

Is there any way I could convince you to go with this one: http://www.ekwb.com/shop/...-fc980-gtx-nickel.html

The only difference would be getting rid of that... Thing... And you gain the ability to make a sensible loop.. Unfortunately, you lose a little bit of the Plexi though.

I am at a loss with that block. It definitely looks like the top was fitted with the idea in mind that it would be used in a single, mall loop or In a build with multiple gpu risers to allow each card to lie down.

Actually, poking around the installation instructions it seems theres something missing from the pictures.

Turns out what comes in the box is something the call FC Link that takes those hols and turns them 90 degrees. Then you can either mount to that, or add yet another but separately purchased EK-FC bridge (http://www.ekwb.com/shop/blocks/vga-blocks/multiple-block-connectivity/fc-connection-parts.html). Theres a single one to give me what the other blocks have and thus the positioning i need. Still agree that this placement is a bit silly. Should just be like the others instead of requiring separate parts. But I guess they assume this is for multi gpu rigs.

SCORE. Guess I'm just impatient. Waterblock just popped back in stock and snagged one. W00t!
