Reading in that thread, the power usage is very good. Not too bad at all, combined with price looks pretty good to me.

    wait.....wrong thread

Interested to hear the results from more 960s. They are one of the cards I'm looking at when I rebuild my dedicated folding rig this year.

On my reference EVGA 960 with the ACX 2.0 cooler I get different experiences depending on the core.

For p9201, I can crunch at 1500MHz core for ~160k ppd. 4.5hrs per WU for ~30k pts each.  GPU usage hovers around 90%, 18% fan speed, and the coil whine is barely noticeable and very tolerable.

But for any FAHCore 0x15 work units like P7601, GPU usage stays at 99%, 1485mhz stable, 28% fan speed, 6-7hrs per WU for 14k pts each for a total of 55-60k ppd. The coil whine is a loud screech that is very irritating.

I'm very happy with the efficiency and noise for core 17 units. But I simply can't stand the coil whine and the ppd/watt for core 15 units which are the only units I have been receiving the last 3 days. Since stanford has disabled core 18 for maxwells and seems to have run out of core 17 WU for windows systems, I won't be folding anymore. I can't stand the screeching.

Honestly better ppd than i was expecting on core 15. Sucks to hear about the coil whine though, hopefully it is not a wide spread problem with the 960s
