The Lattice Project has some work available today. My BOINC client just picked up 4 new tasks. There are presently 454 tasks waiting to be sent via the server status.

Yeah, to my fellow team8s; ...go and get some rare The Lattice Project work units. Based on the 23 tasks that have been completed, time taken varies from 372 secs worth 4.37 credits to 2110 secs worth 24.68 credits.

I just need to know where I can help reinforce things. Unlike a lot of you, I'm not brillant at this (other things yeah but crunching, eh, I just put the resources where needed if I'm given a map).

You suggest, tell me how I'll gladly do it.

Here you go: http://www.dc-vault.com/showteam.php?team=539
We're up from #71 to #37 in 11 days - have you ever seen anything like it?
Rusty, thanks for your help in getting all our team's projects straightened out, and getting the vault out of "lockdown mode". We were afraid our plundering caused it!

Now worries russ... No sig links and post links until 50 posts.. That is because of spammers that drove us to that unfortunately... But you can put a DOT or / at the end and we can get it from there =]

Hi!, Viper97. Is it possible for you to join The Lattice Project? The step-by-step procedure to crunch it is as follow;-

1. Create an account at The Lattice Project.
2. Join our team.
3. Left-click "Add project or account manager..." under Tools in BOINC Manager v6.12.34 and then, left-click "Next >" button.
4. Select "The Lattice Project" with your mouse from the "Choose a project" window panel and then, left-click "Next >" button.
5. Just fill up your email address and choose & confirm your password on the "Identify your account" window panel and then, left-click "Next >" button.

Note: The Lattice Project is listed in the Biological and Medical Science section of the DC-Vault stats. Our team is rank 498 and has a total credit of 3865.

Thanks for the heads-up; I've performed a bit of service maintenance to my home rig yesterday after having noticed the thermal temperature at 80°C and has since dropped by 12°C to 68°C.

I've redirected my efforts to The Lattice Project since it's raining its rare work units now however MOUN1 has become one of my long-term crunching target.

I'm getting TONS of errors on Lattice - 97 already in the last hour or so, where they run a few seconds and quit. It's on multiple machines so it doesn't seem to be related to any system instability.

...while my rig has completed all 43 GARLI 5.02 tasks (according to BOINC Manager) for the last 3 hours successfully but I'll check its forum for any assistance rendered to similar erroneous occurrence resolution.

Here is what I am seeing for the error of one of your hosts:

<core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message> process exited with code 2 (0x2, -254)
</message>
<stderr_txt>
sched_setscheduler: Operation not permitted
execv: No such file or directory
</stderr_txt>

Perhaps this is a permission related issue?

I would think a 32- vs 64-bit issue is more likely. These systems are all running multiple projects so I don't see why this one in particular wouldn't be able to write files.

Or an issue with the version of the boinc manager? Some projects aren't set to work with all versions.... Not sure if you would get a warning when attaching a project to an incompatible version.... The newer version uses a different file structure than te older ones.... Could be the issue....

The Lattice Project appears to only have a 32-bit Linux app. You might try running ldd against the binary to check for dependencies.

The problems were all on one particular system running Ubuntu 10.10 that has run folding, Docking@Home and WCG with no issues. I detached it from Lattice and it's running WCG fine.

reducing production heading into the primegrid challenge and the upcoming mach madness.... running 4 crunching and 4 folding, still have the gpus crunching, added a new project, correlizer http://svahesrv2.bioquant.uni-heidelberg.de/correlizer/index.php

there are talks about possibly adding it to the Vault, figured we could use a few points or so there if it does so we don't take a big hit if/when it does get added as some teams are currently taking part in it....

Over the next month, I might not be around as much, have family coming out to visit, between that, work and classes, my "free" time will be limited, but I'll pop in once in awhile for updates and to check on stuff....

Hoping this donated cpu comes in sometime soon so I can get it up and running.... Don't exactly have the time to move stuff around right now to test everything only to move stuff around again later when it does come in or I get another cpu for it....

I haven't been able to get my 3930k system running 'buntu, not even from my happy LIVE USB.

Did the whole Google thing and found other people on the same platform had a similar issue.

ASUS P9x79 Pro with Intel I7 3930k 4.2 Ghz, Dual EVGA GTX 580s SLI
I use Bionic to help save the world while I'm sleeping, watching TV, or pretty much doing anything but gaming on my PC.

Correct! You can tune some other settings such as number of threads to use, but they are optional.
