BTW, Punchy it's OGR-27, not 72.

Thanks, I keep mixing it up with RC5-72

Okay, I updated the first post with all the info that people have been posting.  From there I have the following condensed list:
CPU:
1.  Muon1
2.  Malariacontrol
3.  POEM@Home
4.  RNAWorld@Home
5.  Enigma@Home
6.  OGR-27

GPU:
1.  Collatz Conjecture

Internet:
1.  Majestic-12

Does this look okay?  We have 22 people signed up, so we can end up with a few people on each.

Looks fat and taste juicy to me.

Nonetheless, I've a question ...will there be much interest about Majestic-12 from our team8s? I raise this issue because I think we need a combined 8Mbit bandwidth to make a reasonable charge ahead.

My GTX 580 seems to be doing half way decent with Collatz. Most regular sized tasks are completing around 1540 seconds. I also just fired up QMC. The Lattice Project has no work at the moment. I plan to do more setup when I have some time off this weekend.

I'll be able to start some of these later today if I can figure it out and the good news is I'm adding another 2600k to the team next week.

For those of us with HPCS, could majestic 12 run on those and how efficient would it be?

That's an interesting thought. I am now wondering about the Amazon one too. Would either of these, or both, be good for this. The I wouldn't have to worry about my monthly limits at home.

Punchy, any input? I know you have been playing around with these services.

It should work fine on the HP Cloud as long as they don't see your usage and figure you are running some sort of DOS attack or spambot.  On the Amazon cloud I have a feeling you would exceed one of the limits, but I'll have to check.
Does Majestic-12 have a Linux client?  I should look myself but gotta run...

One thing I just noticed about Collatz is that my GTX 580 GPU load is 50-60%. With an app_info.xml it should be possible to run two at once to better utilize the GPU. I'll see if I can put one together in the next couple days when I have some more time.

Have you had a chnace to look into this yet? I have started to read up a little on these .xml files, but need some help. I've got 480s, 580's, and 590s that I want to get every little bit out of.

I'll be able to check-in to see where I can help Monday evening (after the grand-kids have gone back to their castle and if I still have my sanity).    I'm leaning toward the Malaria related project since I really like helping out with that stuff.

Quick question about credit received:
I noticed when I search boincstats, my exact username is shown three times, with the projects I'm participating in distributed among those three entries.  The names are all the same and it shows each entry as part of crunching@evga, what gives?  I did notice that I used a different email for some projects so I changed that.

The different e-mail could be the reason. Ask an admin over there if there is any way they could merge them.

The email was the problem, finally found that info in the FAQ

I used different email addresses with different projects.

This could be a problem. The email address is part of the algorithm to match a user across projects. If the email address differs, you might have two BOINCstats accounts that won't merge.

This can only be solved by going to all projects and make sure the same email address is used for all projects.

If I sing that thing to those 3 boys, they first thing they would do is nominate Papa as the "token mouse" and start a whack-fest!  They are really good boys overall, but can be more than an handful at times.

There are Majestic-12 clients available for a few different platforms, but having a mono installation seems key for non-Windows platforms.  If you don't want to fuss with mono on your Linux install, all-around Majestic-12 good guy refic has created some instructions and a package to get around that.  And if you run into trouble with your Linux client configuration, there are plenty of helpful (and smarter than me) folks on the official forums.

If anyone tries and gets this to work, let me know....  extracting it, but it doesn't seem to do anything....  and ./run.sh says no such file or directory....

Edit:  tar xzvf .... and then cd MJ12Node were needed before ./run.sh....  It starts, trying to figure out how to do the account and stuff now....

I had some time this evening to put the config together for running multiple tasks per GPU. Here is the link:

Collatz App_Info

The part that lets you adjust the number of tasks that run per GPU is:

<coproc>
<type>CUDA</type>
<count>0.500000</count>
</coproc>

Count at 1.0 will run one task per GPU, 0.5 will run two per GPU, 0.33 will run three per GPU, and 0.25 will run four per GPU. You can use Precision to see where your GPU load is at. The file would go in your project directory for Collatz: BOINC\projects\boinc.thesonntags.com_collatz. Also, I noticed running certain CPU tasks reduces the GPU load and performance of my Collatz tasks.

I tried to get Majestic-12 set up on the HP Cloud but did not get any further than RHMash.  The output to the screen asks you to set some sort of options in a syntax that would imply there are menus, but there aren't any menus.  I'm thinking that since the package Col323 pointed to includes Mono, the package is intended to be run with a GUI, not from a putty terminal.

If you had it set up on a machine, couldn't you "host" the files with account info and settings and use putty to get them onto the hpcs instance and replace the needed file(s) and run it?  Just an idea....  and maybe create a single cpu instance just for it?

Edit:  Done, I'm done with Majestic 12....  can't get it to even run on the laptop....

Edit:  I can start it up the same as through putty, but can't figure out how to make an account and get everything set up....!

No idea, I'm not getting any work but it doesn't seem like it's requesting any, either....  There aren't any settings you need to change, it only has one application so you only get one type of task....

Trying Majestic12....  apt-get install links
links http://localhost:1088
and that will open the page you need to do the account info and everything....  Only thing, you have to have two instances of putty connected to the server, one with ./run.sh going and one to do the page in links....

Edit: and it appears to be working....  And twice as fast as my isp out here in okinawa, but it isn't all that fast to begin with....
