Mine was set for auto dumps every 24 hours(?) by default but I'm impatient with this stuff so I usually try to manually do it every few hours....

Still chipping away at GIMPS on my laptop and 460.... Three threads for prp and two for sob.... Four for boinc and four for rc5/ogr....

When I started the Muon client, it came up with a box to enter my [team]username before it started the first unit.

We moved into 24 and looks like we will likely go to 22nd today. Seems like Col323 made a large dump yesterday too. What was that, about 5-6 million? Do you just do manual dumps? The latest client that I've been running automatically sends the work in unless I force it.

My WCG will continue to produce, but all other rigs will be switched to folding starting this evening for the TZC. I will go back to spreading the resources across a few projects once we win the challenge.

I was stockpiling some results to celebrate the 1 year anniversary.     By default the client will autosend, although you can run the config_nonet.bat file to configure offline crunching.  Or just manually edit this line Auto-send results ([Y]es, [N]o): N   in your config.txt file, which is what I did a couple weeks ago on an AMD 1045 and an i5.  Then this morning I woke up early like a kid at Christmas and ran manualsend.bat.  Normally I would flush automatically, but I do like running a couple cores offline to let them build up every now and then.  It's like cashing in Risk cards.  Do I turn in now and get 10-12 armies, or do I wait a couple turns and get 20-25?  (Hopefully that makes sense.)

I plan on shutting down muon1 for a bit and going back to WCG for a week or so.  I haven't kept too close of an eye on PRP, but if there's a band of people headed over there in December, I'm game to help!

None of us is as strong as all of us.

Ha, I like to manual send muon1 results too!  I also switch to other projects often on one rig so I pool results and send them all before I switch to something else.  That way I don't have <10 results that can't send until I run muon1 some more.

Everything is switched to TZC for now, but I will resume muon1 after the challenge.

My 920/8800 is acting up.... Pretty sure the gpu is going out, the fan keeps stopping and starting up....

Screen goes black and monitor shuts off, fans still spin.... Hard to tell if the gpu just stops sending signal out or if the whole system is locking up....

Is there on-board graphics or do you have another card you could try? Try without the GPU or a different one and see if it does the same thing. Also, is there an LED display (2 character) on the board? If it's EVGA at least, it would show the current CPU temp and give an idea if the rig is still running. Maybe the HDD LED is still flashing at the normal rate too, indicating the rig is still running.

We'll see in a couple of hours when rc5 and ogr update.... If I have no points for the day, it's not running.... Or nothing on enigma....

Gonna put money on it being the card.... It's pushing out cold air, everything is cool to the touch except the center of the fan.... If its not that, then a voltage must have reset in the bios.... It's similar to when I had the oc unstable while folding, but the display would freeze instead of going black.... Gonna clean everything up and try running it at stock, I guess....

So it seems like the system is still producing, but I lose monitor output after a bit....  fan still spins, wasn't alot of dust inside when I took it apart and cleaned it, but it doesn't stop and start like it did before....  Drivers maybe?  I did recently update them, not sure to which ones, though....

Sorry, mates.  My lease ran out on my rented nodes, so my MJ-12 production has plummeted.  It was fun while it lasted, and I hope to fire some up again next year.

It's all good, and thanks for all you've done on this project.  I've been meaning to look into getting back into this one, but real life has been hectic as of late.

I try to be proactive with these things.  A new project might be getting added to vault.  I wouldn't really call it new, I remember seeing it before but it only had applications for linux at the time....

Asteroids@home.  http://www.team-ninja.com...showthread.php?t=52433
Somewhat similar to what orbit@home did but different still.  Seems they look at the the shapes and rotations of asteroids and how it affects the orbits rather than just studying the orbits.  But I could be completely wrong, it's been awhile since I read through it all.  Some of the vault members are testing it out.  I plan on crunching it some once the christmas challenge ends.

Just added it whilst spreading out again.
Any other project we still need some help. Preferably on the Boinc side. I´m planning on semi retiring one of my rigs, and only bring it online for challenges, as extra space heater during the really cold days,...(you get the idea)

With almost a month and a half of different challenges. I am finally getting back to my staple of PSP, Eon2, and Muon1, and still WCG on the 4th system.

I've been plugging away at MJ-12 throughout these challenges (doesn't seem to take much cpu at all).  Once the WCG race ends I will focus back on Muon1 and let my other rig crunch assorted projects.

I would suggest correlizer, qmc, milkyway, collatz, rna world or leiden classic if you're looking for boinc vault projects.  Those are our only boinc projects below 9000 points in the vault.  correlizer will take quite a bit of work to move up, but we were close to dropping a spot the other day when I looked into it.  Collatz is probably another alot of work to move up, it took quite a bit of work to move up a spot not too long ago.  I have my 8800 on collatz, it doesn't seem to run as hot as some of the other gpu projects and it doesn't tkae it too too long....

And for those looking for non-boinc projects, I would suggest PRP, SOB, MJ-12, GIMPS, muon1 and ogr.  RC5 doesn't necessarily need work, but since it runs in the same client as ogr, it wouldn't hurt to run it, either.

added collatz and correlizer to my line up.
QMC is down until the end of Jan, but has been on the "to do" list for months already

I have been running Asteroids on my 3930K with 6-tasks running at once and with Process Lasso binding the application to the physical cores. So far I am seeing runtime of 4800-5000 seconds per task which seems pretty good overall. I seem to be getting better performance in Windows compared to Linux with this particular project. I have seen no invalid tasks or errors yet. Hopefully this project is added to DC Vault.

I saw we've dropped some spots in the GIMPS project, so am picking up work on my 560 ti.

The current mfaktc release (0.20) is great!  I can now run one instance of the client and hit 99% utilization of the GPU when I had to run two instances before to hit full utilization.  Even better, the latest client uses around 1% of my CPU (i7-2600K) whereas earlier versions required 1 dedicated thread per instance (for two total threads).

With the 560 ti at 935 MHz, the client is estimating 257 GHz-d/day while almost the entire CPU is left free to crunch elsewhere.

Just added my 460 back on GIMPS....  I would imagine the WCG challenge leading almost immediately into the PrimeGrid challenge pulled whatever GPUs we had on it....  I'm still running the old one, running two instances on my 460....
4 threads on PRP and 4 in BOINC....
Having issues with the 920 system, decided to try out Win8 from Server 2008....  MJ-12 won't install for me, BOINC was the only thing I could get to install and didn't feel like messing around with restarting to get it running, yet....  So I'm down to the 3770k and a laptop right now....

For some reason my 2600k is shutting off unexpectedly.  Checked PSU, Mem, video card.  all that is left is CPU and Mobo....

So only pullin Muon and PSP for now.

Temps OK??

I didn't realize that GIMPS had a GPU app. Running some units on my 590s now. Is 140 GHz-d/day good?

That's 140 per GPU  for 560 GHz-d/day total.

Here's a chart of expected GHz-d/day for various GPUs running mfaktc/o for GIMPS.

http://www.mersenne.ca/mfaktc.php

I can't say they're all accurate, but the 560 ti estimate was spot on with what I saw.

I goofed and played around with the .ini file too much. After putting it back to default settings, my performance is now 325 GHz-d/day for each GPU, totalling 1300 GHz-d/day. Now I've just gotta try to keep them fed with work.

If you haven't already with mfaktc, you may want to raise the upper limit on the assignments (I've been changing them to 72).  This keeps your GPUs fed for a longer time with the same number of assignments.

There's a section in the README.txt file that comes with mfaktc that explains this in more detail, under the section on getting and returning assignments.

I started running Neurona again and the latest tasks have some decent memory usage:

In one instance, I saw the memory usage spike over 8,200,000 KB. There also appears to be a one task limit now.
