Collatz is fired up.

Is there a way to get CUDA tasks?  I keep getting opencl_nvidia on my 560 ti with the latest 306 whql drivers.

Try downloading and installing the appropriate Optimized Application for your setup here: ( http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/power_apps.php )

Not 100% sure, but it may help.

That worked.  Many thanks for the tip, I've never used the optimized apps before.

^^ What project RH?

Anyone one notice we fell to 16th overnight, and there is a serious shuffle across the board? I wonder if it is a glitch or projects got removed/added and we need to adjust our strategy?

duboisi, great numbers over at Majestic-12!  We can definitely keep production north of 10 Meellion per day and start making inroads on that dead weight ahead.

I had alot of work that wasn't counting towards anything....  After looking through the forums over at collatz, alot of people are having issues with the new gpu tasks either taking forever or being inconclusive, and sometimes both together.  I noticed my 460 was crunching at 15% on the normal collatz gpu tasks and those were the same ones coming up inconclusive.  After disabling those and only running the older mini-collatz, I'm seeing no issues....

My 460 is knocking them out but my 560ti was only running at 50% and just a couple errors. I couldn't get it straightened out so I sent it back to the fold.

I got a new 10gb/s broadband package that give me extra 30hrs of  30gb/s monthly of unlimited download. I should be able to spare 10hrs of that on MJ12. Set up 2 clients with 500 max workers each, but most of the time active workers is around 200 on each cleint and and combined to consume only about 4gb/s. What should I do to maximized the crawl ? Thanks.

I'd let it be for now.  The URL buckets we're crawling are pretty bad right now in terms of error rate (DNS failures, 404 errors, etc.) .  Once we chew through these, you should be utilizing more of your max workers.  Hopefully that's sooner than later.

Things seem to be picking up, so hopefully that trend continues.  If things degrade again, the solution OldChap offers here seems to work pretty well for maximizing throughput.

I see you guys are back to crawling for MJ-12.  I had forgotten about it for awhile but I will get some work done since it seems to play nice with F@H while trying to fend off H.  It doesn't seem to affect my ppd much at all.

Yes, the Vault seems like a revolving door lately. Sounds like not every project can keep up with demand after being added to the Vault.

I see another thread mentioning stable work from LHC@Home as of late. If it's reactivated in the Vault, I hope it can buck that trend.

All this shows me is to stay the course and work what my heart wants or teammates ask... I understand why they do it, but in my mind removing a project that has been active in the last year (Just a comment, no idea what their guidelines are) is rather rude to those that helped it and earned the credit. Over a year, I get it...

The original LHC project has had plenty of work in recent times with 114,484 tasks available currently. There was one point where LHC had no work for extended periods. The project administrator has done significant updates and optimization to the applications recently. There is even talk of a possible GPU application. I am excited overall by the recent updates and future plans.

It hasn't been completely removed.  It is still in the vault, but it just doesn't go into the scores.  It is more of a means to show the position of teams based on current work.  I haven't gotten correlizer work in a few months, if I remember right.

Good news, Vaulters!  The freight train that was bearing down on us in Majestic-12 has stopped (for now?) so that will save us over 50 points according to Barbarossa's handy dandy link.  Meanwhile, the Muon1 server strangeness is being fixed, which means stats gathering is back.  While it was down, we gained two spots which translates to nearly 274 points!  And we're on pace to pick up another place and 137 points in a week or so.

All this while fighting the good fight against the {s}ofties!  I'd throw something at PG for you, but I don't have anything fold-worthy anymore.

None of us is as strong as all of us.

We have to be prepared for reality next month as well. Falling from #1 in Folding. Not sure what that negative point total will be, but it is coming...

While I do see the link provided showing 0.12 points... We will see.

According to my "handy dandy " link above a whoooooping 0.12 points in the Vault

That´s excellent news there Col323!

I don´t have any additional ressources left either to throw at , unless I shift even more from Crunching to folding, or then drop out for the rest of the year, just to keep my monthly power payments halfway at what they are now

edit: no idea, why part of my post got crossed out

Ok boys and girls,  What are we working on these days, I know we are holding off Hard corp with folding, but that day will come sooner than we think, and I will split my time between the two,
So give me some suggestions on what to run on my 4p box, and lets get some points.
and on a sad note I lost my 1TB green WD hard drive today,Makes clicking noises.  lots of data on it that was not backed up, ( I know better) but it was not that important I guess, photos and most of my school work was on flash drives. good news is i can rma it.
