The support EVGA gives Australia is actually really quite sad, including a very poor RMA procedure which requires you send your card overseas.
Both Gigabyte and ASUS have service centres in Australia that offer direct hotswaps for any failed cards, and yet EVGA, nVidia's "largest partner" is incapable of setting up anything in Australia.
I could live without all the other American perks like the step up program if they at least had some kind of real presence in Australia. Currently considering jumping ship and going for ASUS when i buy my 680's (if they ever come into stock).

I actually had an RMA issue with my 8800 GTX card back in the day. And while I was politely asked not to say exactly what they did to sort out my issue, I will say I was extremely impressed with their level of service.

Am I that confusing? have you *contacted* them? they sold NO EVGA VIDEO CARDS until I requested them to stock these EVGA hydros.
So if you contact them instead of stating they aren't up on their website then perhaps you might get what you're after.... food for thought!

I would love to get a 680 4Gb Hydro. My trusty 570 stock (ek WC block) has done well but I have recently changed my main screen to my 24in and now have my 30in as my second screen. My FPS in BF3 jumped up 40FPS. Miss the big screen for gaming though. Please give us the 680 4gb HC

I have been waiting for my RMA with ITSDIRECT since April 3 and finally on April 23 I received a RA number. Dunno how long I gotta wait for the whole fixing process to complete!! A month without my PC feeling numb :( Macros

another aussie here, very dissatisfied about the prices of latest gen tech here, in perth its $750 for a stock 680 or 7970, and then in melbourne with the $1600 690. considering our dollar is STRONGER than the american, and has been for well over a year, its sad to see that the pricing has remained similar to what it was when our dollar was at 60 us cents. glad to see that evga is planning something, cause getting decent parts over here is a massive PITA

Granted it is for all brands of cards, not just EVGA. However with EVGA there seems to be a higher cost price because the parts seem to not be discounted as much as other brands such as the Galaxy.
Which leads me to believe there is a big markup on cost pricing from the distributors in Aus, not EVGA directly.
While I am extremely glad that EVGA are looking into this, I am sure there is more to the story than just parity of our dollar.
Looking forward to seeing how this pans out.

oh yes, i was not talking about evga directly, all 680s and 7970s from sapphire, asus, gigabyte, evga, and all the other brands are that the inflated price, im not pointing the finger at evga, from what i have heard its from the distributors

I believe there is also an issue for EVGA where people see that their cards are (for whatever reason) priced higher than the Asus/Gigabyte/Galaxy cards in Aus so people will buy the other brands instead.
Coupled with the fact that if people want to buy EVGA specifically they will more than likely import it which hurts EVGA's presence in Aus as well.
So in these two cases, EVGA don't see sales in Aus so then this could lead to a smaller presence locally.
It's a two fold issue.
I personally would love to either buy direct from EVGA here like our EU/US friends or buy locally at more fair pricing.
At the end of the day if I am going to save hundreds of dollars by importing, then I will.

i certainly dont have an issue paying more for a better product, but i understand that others would.
as i said, every brand is at a much higher price, so being able to buy stuff here for the same price (or at least much closer) to what america can, will certainly be nice.
and its not like its an issue with every product, they only have this inflated price on the lates gen, wheras the 6xxx series amd is much lower, and aside from the 580, the 5xx series is at a sensible price too
