Very nice job, that is definitly a PC to be proud of. Great job on those OC's aswell, that PC is put together very well. I take it there was not a lot of windy that day when taking pictures out in the snow .

Thanks guys I laugh at the photography comments, I literally just got a reasonably good camera (a small Samsung 12-megapixel) and am 100% amateur in all things photography. I'd like to get into it more though, as I tell people "my monitor looks better than real life" because if you film or render something you can blow up all the tiny details at high-res that you can't normally see well... Beautiful world out there to look at. gizmo7 not sure about what's up with parts of the case (curious, not in a negative way) Feel free to ask about whatever's got you curious, there are a lot of little details I'd be happy to babble about

Lol, just because you don't take a hundreds of pics on a build like *cough* some of us do *cough*, don't sell yourself short. Great pics, and one of these days I'll feel comfortable with resleeving a psu, because damn that looks nice.

I actually managed not to void my PSU warranty using some clever tricks. Though I got it for $80 new over a year ago, wouldn't be a big loss (other than down time). And hmmmmm I wonder who took a few too many pictures of a certain AMD rig? I actually took over 700 since I was experimenting with my camera, but most were duplicates. Narrowed down to about 60 or so + build log.

Thanks guys! In truth the motherboard tray and back panel came chrome. Before I hacked*, sanded, and repaneled it, the case was an Ultra m998: http://benchmarkreviews.c...mp;id=120&Itemid=1 I chose it because it was uncommon and I really liked a lot of the design, from the curved struts to the chrome backplate/tray. When I chose the rest of the components I tried to stick with a flat black and chrome/reflective theme. The outdoor shots do the system justice when it's not lit, but honestly it's hard to appreciate the lighting effects in the pictures because it doesn't demonstrate the effects of the lights glowing against the chrome at different angles. * = cutting into the chrome backplate was the most frightening cutting I did on this build... Plus it sprayed me with sparks the entire time

So did you build that case? and i love the window showing off your hard drive. This case is hands down the best looking case on Evga.com and maybe the interwebs.

Thanks everybody Makes all the time/energy invested into it worthwhile. seth89 So did you build that case? and i love the window showing off your hard drive. This case is hands down the best looking case on Evga.com and maybe the interwebs. Haha, well, I appreciate that a lot, though there are some insanely beautiful cases on the internet, and a few here right in this section. But given that this was my first heavy mod and the tools/experience I had, I'm very happy with it... Not another system like it. I know it loads really slow, but take a look at the build log if you get a chance. I stripped the case down to the frame and drastically changed the design (particularly the front half). It used to have a single front 120mm and traditional HDD racks. The side panels and top were aluminum, and the front was a slightly cheesy plastic piece. Looked like the older build in my Mods Rigs. All the paneling on there now originally started as clear acrylic. I finagled my way into using some laser cutting machines for the detail work and created the seamless windows with a lot of careful laser scoring/taping. One not-so funny tidbit... If the paneling ever looks slightly askew in the pictures, it's because the panels warped while I had it outside! (15-20F outside at the time...)

billyfromhill How did you paint those CCFL switches black? Just used a tiny screwdriver to remove the switch housing from the bracket, light sanded, and painted both sides. Did something similar to the inverters since they come in ... teal ... for some reason.
