I have read that there is possibly an issue with 1070/80 evga cards overheating.  I am wondering if my card is affected by this I know my card gets hot usually around 80+.

Some times my card hits 82C and I have my limit set to 86C and the Max is 92C.
So you are OK on your GTX 1070 or on your GTX 1080 Cards
Without knowing what you have for hardware and so on no one can really say.

My EVGA 1080 Hybrid runs at an icy 40c max. Even the air cooled cards do not get over 75c with a good fan curve.

The Hybrid Cooled Graphics Card is not an Air Cooled Graphics Card so your Temperatures would not apply here.
Same as if your Card was a Hydro Copper Graphics Card. I have all 4 types of Coolers.

Card used to be a SC, w/ fan curve temps never went above 70c when overclocking. 65c was standard for stock settings.
Others on the forum seem to report something similar.

Icey compared to the standard temps. I did not mean that literally.

Both my GTX 1080s run at 82C as a high and is normal for the card. Norm is 64C - 76C
Fans are set at 98% 106% Max Power and 86C Max Temp Both Fold 24 Hours a Day Non-Stop.
So having 40C as the MAX is Icy Cold Compared to my 82C.

Do do you even know what overheating means? What you described is not overheating. It's running hot, but not to the point it is overheating.

GPU temps depend on a variety of factors. How good is your case airflow? How high are the ambient temps? What's the fan curve like? How aggressive is your overclock?

I have a GTX 1060 that runs up to 80C in some games due to bad airflow in my casing.

All 1000 Series cards have a built in limit of 83C and a maximum temp of about 92C. It's well within acceptable range, and don't forget the FE cards ran very hot anyways and kept hitting the thermal threshold.

With a custom fan curve my card is running at 34 degrees C idle, 47 degrees C full load while gaming on air.

The ACX cooler cant keep the gpu at 47 C under "full load" even at 100% fan speed. if you are actually seeing 47 C with the gpu really at 100% load then the temperature is being reported incorrectly. just basic common sense would tell you that if that is the case.

I was able to achieve 55C under max load at 1440P using CoolLabs liquid ultra and 70% fan profile. I would like to know what TIM you are using to reach only 47C

Stock TIM. And to trek554, who basically called me stupid and a liar....I don't care what you believe, I have no reason to lie. Anyway, here's the proof. Pics or it didn't happen right? I have many people on this forum that can vouch for me. 1080p, 9 case fans and fast sync have something to with it. If you have nothing constructive to add to the community, please keep quiet, grown-ups are talking.

You're only at 75% TDP there but yeah if you're are pushing 100% + (up to 112%) then you would get a little warmer. 1080p is not demanding all the resources from your GPU in all likelihood

Also your fans are at 92%? How do you tolerate that noise?? lol

I have 3 noisy kids, lol. Plus my old  SLI 970's ran 65C @ 100% fans. All that hot air from 2 ACX coolers. Custom bios mod though.
I have 1 exhaust fan and 1 intake fan right behind the 1070 SC so that may help with temps too.

exactly. all he did was prove that he has no idea what the heck he is talking about as he is not even remotely close to "full load" in demanding game. The ACX cooler cant keep temps below 50 C  when its actually being pushed hard. without vsync or any other cap I see temps in mid to upper 60s in modern demanding games at 1440 even with the fan between 90 and 100%. any review by a normal person or tech site shows that is the case for the ACX cards. hell the temps he is claiming are around what the hybrid cards get.

With vsync off and fans at 65 %, temps hit 50-55c. I'm tired of people like you that think others are stupid, have no idea what we're talking about, have a low IQ or have no common sense because we don't share your point of view.

You know what, I was going to be the better person and not comment about all the crap you've been spewing, but forget it. As a parent of a child with a learning disability, I take offense to your your comment about low IQ's. My daughter is 9 and has a 72 IQ. I don't think your comments are funny in the least. I hope the mods see this and wave the ban hammer. I really don't care anymore, as you have crossed the line as far as I'm concerned.
