my first EVGA Precisson X 16 tryout and Benchmark?!

ok, i absolutely don't know what i'm doing here.
I hope that was "Overclocking", maybe...
Dear EVGA Community, i tested EVGA Precisson X 16 today,
when I say "tested" it means increase random FADERS
or "press some Buttons"... i also opened the tool OC Scanner, and
there i pressed  the "BENCHMARK BUtton"
now become a "score",... What does this score means?
and are the settings in Precisson X 16, okay? I increased the
"POWER TARGET" Fader up to 110%, the "GPU Temp Target" switched
automatic...     so many Questions... 
 
I said it, that i am a total greenhorn :-D
I really need someone how can
give me 1 - 3 OVERCLOCKING Lessons. ;)

    1.  Enable KBoost
    2.  Increase power limit slider to maximum
    3.  If it's not already, add voltage until you're at 1.256v
    4.  Increase core clock by +100 to start, then go up by +10 each step until it's no longer stable
    5.  Increase memory clock by +200 to start, then go up by +20 each step until it's no longer stable
    6.  Have GPUz open, and watch the "perf cap reason".  If your card is throttling, it'll tell you why.

    Depending on the 970 you have, you'll likely hit your power limit, perf cap reason PWR, before you see any other issues.
