Updated Card Design

If EVGA is changing the design on the 1070/1080s by adding thermal pads. Does that mean that the updated design cards will have a new model number? Essentially, how can folks know if cards at the retailer include the thermal pads? The whole cards shipped after Nov 1 isn't a really good way to tel..

About to purchase 1070 Hybrid FTW - VRAM heating issues?

I'm about to purchase a 1070 Hybrid FTW which is anything but cheap and I have some questions regarding the whole overheating VRAM, thermal pads and BIOS update. If I would purchase this specific GPU now, would it mean that I still have to perform the bios update and applying thermal pads to the VRA..

Cards not detected after updating bios.

Hi i have 2 1080 SC in SLI. Ran bios update and screens all went black. waited approx an hour, then just rebooted comp. And now my system only detects the intel HD520 graphics on motherboard. How i know my card vram heating?

So i do have 1070FTW... never notice its heating, always show 50C to 60c run loads. Is it core temp? So how i know vram temp all time? My card never can OC more than +50mhz core, its it related?..
