Question to the Admins and Evga

So I have a GTX 1080 and even when I ordered the pads from Evga I also ordered a 2 mm pads from amazon considering that is taking some time for Evga go approve my request. The amazon pads are blue but i dont really care as long as they cool off my card. So here is the stupid question for the adm..

So, my EK cooled FTW ... I should add VRM and Backplate pads?

The backplate seems a no-brainer, couldn't do any hard could it? Even though everything else is cooler by default there's nothing on my VRM making contact with the heatsink. I plan on breaking it down and adding a super slim thermistor somewhere in the VRM area anyway so, while I'm at it?..

Might my 1080 SC be the cause of randoms 2second blackscreens?

I have a Dell U2715H and occassionally, after short inactivity, I get a blackscreen for like two seconds. Afterwards, with no interaction, it just goes back to normal.
