Salty Prices Pros: Much faster then your typical HDD.
Cons: The prices are insane still.
Other Thoughts: I haven't actually purchased this item but I just wanted to say something regarding these SSDs and OCZ Manufactures tend to like to read and respond to these reviews. Basically my thoughts are this: Why is it that a 60GB SSD costs me over 300$, even though I can go and buy 10 8GB flash thumb drives (which is virtually the exact same technology) and have 80GB of space with only paying around 100$. This is what bothers me. The prices on these SSDs need to go down and quick.
If the flash drives are cheap why can't we make SSDs cheap? I recently dumped over 1k into my new machine that I built personally. Running Win7 Ultimate
I can score 7's all across the board except with my HDD.
Harddrive techology is way in dark ages still, and I'm afraid if manufactures can't start competeing with prices the techology will be overtaken by a newer techology before anyone can afford to take advantage Manufacturer Response:Hello, the chips used in a thumb drive are not the same, and do not have the controller required for SSD operation. The prices of SSD drives are controlled largely by the chip market, which fluctuates with supply and demand, just as you will find with system memory. This is a very competitive market, and we price our products aggressively. When chip prices fall, so will prices.
Thank you
