Welcome Blunt; glad to have you on board!

Well it's been two weeks since I joined up with the EVGA folding Team and I think every thing is going smoothly.  I am now ranked at 11,916 on the list. I usually turn on my folding program at night right before heading for the shower and bed. I have completed 4 WU's so far and it feels good to log on after I get the kids some breakfast and see that I have completed a work load. I can see how this could be addicting and find myself wanting to get more WU's done for the cause and for the team.
So, I've been thinking that if anyone happens to have an old low profile GPU they do not need; or they want to sell to a new commer to help him  to let me know please.  I think with the set up I have there is not much I can do without a totally new mobo and chip. But I think a graphics card probably would help alot in my numbers?
You guys are way more knowledgeable about these things than I.
Current Sytem:
Dell Vostro 220s/dell board
4GB Samsung Ram
350 watt pw
If anyone come across anything to please let me know; send me a message please.
I need 4 more post before I can add the "EVGA Folding TEAM" signature to my page and I'm proud to be able to wear that.
Thanks again guys for the help

AKAOX - Yes - Folding can become quite addictive!  Just wait until we ramp up for some of the contests - it gets rather crazy!

As for your question on the low profile GPU.  While I will say that any and all WU's, regardless of platform or points generated, help the cause, it may not be the most optimal move at the point in time.  With the new core being utilized for GPU folding, older series cards do not fair that well.  The core is geared more toward the newer generation cards (e.g. 6XX and 7XX series).  Personally, I recommend saving that money and using it (along with your EVGA bucks from folding) to work on upgrading the overall system.  But - that's just my 2 cents.  If, however, you are really set on getting a low profile card - just check to make sure your system (PSU) can support the additional work load.  Since Folding runs the cards at full load, you need to ensure you have the juice to power it.

Either way - very glad to have you on board and Fold On!

Thank you for the reply Boballee.. I don't think with the amount of WU's I am able to produce will help me get any EVGA bucks. But I was also looking at something like the Nvidia Geforce GT 630 with 2GB or  the  MSI Nvidia GT 630 with 4GB?

I'm not looking for a monster imporvement; but if one of these would help slightly then I'd be happy.

True - with your current production, might be a bit of a stretch for the EVGA bucks - but you never know.  Again, anything that will push out additional work units always helps.  Depending on teh full specs of your system, I think the PSU you have can handle the addition of a GT 630.  If you can and want to do it, I say go for it.

Greetings to all!

I've started folding this last week and of course thought I'd throw all my points towards Team EVGA.  My folding name is sshamm on the team.  Hope my contribution helps the cause and team.  I am folding whenever I'm not gaming which allows for a lot of folding up time. (work full time) Nice to meet everyone though!

Hi and welcome to the team, if you intend to collect the EVGA bucks - and why not....then as your folding name is a little different to your forum name you need add your folding name onto your forum profile, then PM EVGATech_MattM ( I hope he is the correct Guy) give him your folding name and forum name and he can get it approved, when he has OK'd it you are good to go.

Have a look @ the folding page, it is under Community and then folding

Most of us use the EOCF folding stats, your link is:

The stats can be a few hours behind and is update every 3 hours

Any specific issues you can't find the answer to  then just open a new thread and hold on tight

Hi everyone! I just started folding yesterday and of course joined team EVGA! I've got my home PC folding 24/7 with an i5 2500k (stock speeds) and no GPU averaging 12k estimated PPD. I also have a laptop running on full unless I'm using it while working averaging 6k PPD. I'm in the process of building a rig at work using an i7 3930k on an EVGA x79 Dark mobo. I might have to pick up a cheap GPU to get it up and running and save for a nice GPU down the line. I'm also considering having my PLEX server at work start folding or just straight up turn it into a dedicated folding server.

I'm super psyched to be a part of this and I can't wait to get to a point where I can compete well with you guys :)
