Hi!  *waves franticly*,

I am pretty new to folding, but i am a geek from way back. I decided to do some folding after i got my new FTW card and seen EVGA advertising for it on the install CD. While I won't run it constantly, cause Photoshop and folding is not a good thing, i figure while i am web dinking it cant hurt to let em use some CPU/GPU.

Anyway, here I am.

<--- as you can see i post often, joined 09  and still new member lol.

Hi, I just started Folding yesterday on my Main pc.  I got another PC that i want to fold with, but was wondering if that is against the rules as far as getting EVGA bucks?

I ask cause in the rules it says "You must use Folding@Home as an individual, combining as a group will lead to disqualification"

Thanks

Welcome aboard!!!

as long as the PC's are yours  they don't care

what it means is only 1 person can collect per household
you can have multiple machine either under your own name or under different names at your house -
only thing is only 1 person can collect EVGA bucks per household (max $10 for both tiers)
so unless you want your family to collect points under individual names (internal competition) or they want to have their own folding stats - their own contribution

ie your wife may want her own stats your son may want his own stats - but only 1 person can collect the EVGA bucks - and only for 1 of the accounts

it best to fold under 1 account

the clause you are referring to is for instances where fellow teammates help other member get to their tiers (when they can't do it)
ie... you fold for me or I fold for you - when your short or away...
That is not allowed

And all the house PC's folding on the same account helps the competitiveness of folding, we fold for the science and count points for the fun  :)

Hi, just discovered this folding.  Glad to find something that I can contribute to doing something big while being the computer nerd that I am.    Wish I had known about this sooner.

If I was to do some gaming on my PC that is folding.  Would I lose less ppd if I paused the folding while gaming and resumed it after, or just let it run the hole time.... since the game is unaffected by the folding in the background.  Thanks.
